With such hype you think they would do a little product knowledge before talking about it with clients.

my company sent out a 32 page guide on our Ipad 2 release so we would not **** off customers and all our staff had to read it so they were all trained.
I hated calling dealers and them telling me. Don't worry, we dont have an allocation, but come down and we can order it for you.

The are six Boss 302s presently on eBay with a combined handful of bids without a single one reaching MSRP. The first eBay auctions on the GT500 would disappear overnight, hand shake deals with dealers went up in smoke, and many feared this was the one and only shot for a great car only get warped flywheels due to their allergy to heat with subsequent burnt clutches and grinding trannys. Not that great a car after all.

We would say Carroll Shelby was instrumental in keeping the prices up on the GT500 for a year because he was always more concerned with the marketing aspect while backstabbing his very supporters while the face of the Boss 302, Parnelli Jones, seems to be a genuine Mustang fan and not likely to prostitute his priciples, name, or legacy in exchange for money. I could be proven wrong but I doubt it.

Am I implying an association of Carroll Shelby with the world's oldest profession? You make the call.

1. I guess you're saying that the buyers of the boss think it's overpriced and not worth msrp, interesting.

2. I'm not sure what kind a mental powers you have in your explanation of GT500 deals, very amusing.

3. I don't know which GT500 you're trying to say has flywheel issues and grinding trans, I guess I got one of the good ones out of 5500, lucky me yay

4. It always ALWAYS comes down to money with Shelby haters. Sorry you can't afford it, I can't afford a bugatti but I'm not crying about the overpriced supercar.

5. Parnelli Jones, talk about the oldest profession on earth. What does a Shelby hater need most. A super hero to defeat their darkest enemy, the evil Carroll Shelby. Now back to the oldest profession , you hate Shelby so much, I can actually see you falling in love with Jones just by reading your post about him. Very creepy

"I wanna go fast"

Talking

To the dismay of dealers we know eventually availaibity will improve and no matter how good the Boss turns out to be depriciation will be part of its future, perhaps even more than other SEs since the Boss owners are likely to track it more than other previous models.[/QUOTE]

Ahh,the financial rust that affects all the SE Mustangs, eventually.
My old '01 Bullitt, bought it new at MSRP, now down to around 9-10 grand, ten years later, for an excellent 19,000 mile example.
Compared to the latest 5.0 Mustangs, and Boss....about like a flathead Ford.

I hope that is what happens to the greed driven dealers with the Boss.
To be honest I had to mapquest it At this point, you think they could list it as a classic? Maybe Barrett Jackson There's a dealer in Salem 40 miles West of here that is asking $20k over for their CO/BK Boss. I have a feeling theirs will still be available when the 2017s are rolling off the line.

True. The new Mustang will be out in a few years, most likely just as fast if not faster than the Boss, revised suspension, more power. Technology and performance will march on.

You're too "young" to understand his points on the GT500 being an '11 owner
1) Those of us that jumped in when it was launched were faced with a pent-up demand for high hp muscle cars where the supply was limited to basically one car, the GT500. Today, the GT500 is competing with several flavors of high performance Mustangs, Challengers and Camaros, not to mention the CTS-V.

2) $20-$30k ADMs were the norm for the first year unless you owned a dealership.

3) I am on my 3rd clutch and 2nd transmission. If you were as interested in the legacy of these old racers as your car, you could Google GT500 clutch TSBs and it would keep you busy for a week.

To be honest, I like my GT500 and put a lot of money and effort into making it better. I am not a big racing spectator, but love to participate in track events. I know very little about either Carroll Shelby or Parnelli Jones. No disrespect to either man, but I own two really awesome Ford Mustangs. One is a GT500 and the other a Boss 302. Oh, and I don't have a signed anything on my GT500, other than the two guys that assembled the motor.

Give it a few years and these will sell cheap. Like the Shelby GT 2007-2008.

Back in July 2007, I went to a dealership wanting $60k for a white 2007 Shelby GT.

What a shame. Dealers think the allocation is sacred but no- anybody can order it at msrp

The only logical conclusion I could draw from the KR pricing was that Shelby was trying to capitalize on the mispricing of the GT500 at the time. They saw all this extra profit going to the dealers versus the people that designed and built the car. The problem is it came out too late hitting the downturn in the economy, and it added too little to a base GT500. Had it launched in 2007, they might have sold some for six figures as crazy as things were then.

Perhaps in a year or so but right now, allocations at MSRP are few and far between.

I wouldn't say few and far between. But you have to be willing to look to find them and not just go with the first one you see. They aren't all MSRP, sure...but they aren't so limited that you can't find one at MSRP either.

I thought this would happen and is why I wanted to have my order locked in before the reviews came out and cars hit the lots. I wasn't paying attention to the GT500 Mania a few years ago other than seeing my local dealer add $40K to a KR. I thought they were on drugs and that car was still on their lot last Fall.

I agree however it took me 8 dealerships until I could find an available allocation that wasn't already marked up.

Of course, I did have no less than 4 dealerships aggressively try and sell me a GT500 they had sitting on the lot.

I found one yesterday for msrp. You can find 1 if you look. Not as likely with the LS.

Based on what I've seen around on forums too, it depends on what part of the country you are in and if ADMs are common on specialty cars in that area. Well, that and how well informed certain dealers are makes a huge difference too. You get some dealers that see special edition, they google it, look at the first link they find, then put a $20k markup on it and call it a day since it's "limited".

You know you want that leftover 2011 V6 'Vert they have sitting on the lot. It's practically the same car, you know. Plus, it gets better gas mileage.

Yeah that and maybe a 2007 GT500 with only 5000 ADM. A steal when some bosses have a 30000 ADM
