Lost Boss Key
Had to happen. Been so long since I put the red key safely away to wait for the dealer call that I can't find the darn thing. Either that or Ford is sneaking in our homes and taking them so they can say, "trackey, what trackey?"
Nuts.
Nuts.

I went to the dealer and had them cut 2 new keys right away. ~$75
I was also worried that if I lost one, it would be $$$ to get one made and
when the red key gets reprogramed, then there are no set of 2 key required
for home programming spares. Maybe Ford is taking them, but has not got to
Alaska yet!!!

Has anyone tried their TracKey? I assume it will start the car without programming but have not tried mine. I just hung it in my key box when I got home from the dealer. When I get home I will certainly check to see if it is there (conspiracy theories)

The only upside is I'll probably have enough track days under my belt by the time we get it that I'll have some idea of what it actually does for improving lap times. Think of it as a big mod that doesn't cost that much. If it's worth a couple seconds, that's a heck of a deal over a set of r-comps that cost you about $302 every track day

There was an element of hangover involved. I started to vaguely remember deciding to move the key to a safer location last Wednesday night, right after I took a sleep aide. However, I couldn't remember anything after that. Then I started to remember seeing it in my centre console Thursday morning. After a search of the car turned up nothing I started to retrace my steps on Thursday. Must have put it in my pocket then had it fall out. Back in its original "unsafe" location until I can think of a better, easily recalled location. Hopefully Trackey becomes available soon.

I went to my local Ford dealer to price a Boss Logo 3rd key. $135 for the Silver/Black and 145 for the Red key. I had to chuckle, $10 for the red logo. So, I did not order it and thought I'd order a generic relpacement Key. Then I started thinking about how supportive and excited My Fiancee' was/ is about the Boss. I turned around and went back a ordered the key. She will think its pretty cool to have her own Boss Key... and I think she is prety cool!

The street key (silver/Black) part # is 164R8020, but when I try to search that part # in the ford parts systems it does not come up.
