I also saw one at a dealer with stripes a couple months ago. Another dealer took a yellow blaze Mustang, painted the hood and roof like the Boss but left off the stripes.

I saw a yellow blaze with black boss stripes on it at a nearby dealership while on the freeway ...I thought it was a boss from the road but when I stopped in to look at it (curious what crazy markup it would have from this particular dealer) I found out it was a **** V6! Made me sick to look at...

Saw this on base a couple weeks ago. Used to be the baddest "boss" on base... 'til I showed up.
I've tried giving him the nod/wave/finger from the steering wheel while passing, I get nothing in return.

I see nothing wrong with these custom stangs, in fact they look good. If some dealers are trying to pass of one as the real thing that is different. It is your car do as you will without worrying about others, I did a 70 vert in the Boss stripes once.
Anyway Boss owners get use to it. The current CJ ad has three ponies on it, one is a 70 Boss and one is a 12 Boss. The local south FL forum has a Boss on it's main page and it has been there a while, not bad for a car that has about 9,800 units built so far in 42 years as compared to the millions of Mustangs built over the years.

Might keep this setup as is for a while (probably the standard boss black hood decal to tie in the stripes)
However, at some point I'll get an LS splitter, 302S hood, and maybe change the rear wing. Really depends on how I feel about aero on track after more testing.
I'm also still playing with the front wheel offsets. The pictured front wheels are 19x8.5 ET35, the rears 19x9.5 ET40. I'm thinking about getting a pair of the rears to go to a square setup on the car.
here's the front:

He did my hood in flat but can do it in the shinny or any color. It would be cheaper then the original one.

If you don't mind me asking, what did he charge for that? I see AM has something similar for under $100, but that looks just like what I want.
