Laguna Seca Open Track Nov 25
Anyone up for hitting Laguna Seca on Nov 25th? The Nor Cal Shelby Club is hosting an event there the day after Thanksgiving.
On a related topic, does anyone know how many decibels we are at without the side pipe disks in place? You need to be at 92 dB.
Here's the basic requirements:
92 dB SOUND LIMIT FOR THIS EVENT
Minimum safety requirements for drivers and passengers:
• Helmet: Snell SA2000,M2000,SA2005,M2005 or newer
• 2.5 lb. fire extinguisher mounted with metal bracket
• Roll bar for ALL occupants in open-cockpit cars
• Full coverage, non-melting shoes in ALL groups
• Gloves (fire retardant or leather) in ALL groups
• Full-length cotton pants in Yellow, Red, and Green
• Long-sleeve cotton shirts in Yellow, Red, and Green
• 4-point safety harnesses in Green

I've been told a FR500S which has rear mufflers but no cats doesn't meet the 92 db sound limit..
For the 5 major events I.e. ALMS, Grand Am, Rolex Reunion, Moto GP the limit is waived.
Unless Ford got an exemption from the County of Monterey which owns the track for their press intro and testing of the Boss...and they ran with the side exhausts open, then your Boss should me ok.
The alternative is to make up a 90degree tube which fits over the rear exhaust and sends the exhaust to the left side of the car going up the hill to turn 5.......or just lift going up the hill

I haven't ruled it out yet but it's not looking good. I'd like to be in the Monterey/Salinas the night before since it's a three hour drive for me but driving down on Thanksgiving night is going to be tough. If it was that Saturday I'd go.

oh man, this is calling to me. I have too much family in town then to jet out, but I've really, REALLY wanted to take my car around MRLS, especially with the conti slicks and RXT clutch.

I'm officially out for that date. HOD is there the day before Thanksgiving but my run group is sold out. I'd much rather go with NorCal Shelby as the run groups will be smaller.
I have some info on a fire extinguisher mount a guy made for me and I can post it tonight. Nothing fancy but it works and is very affordable.

See this thread for some pics of how I mounted the fire extinguisher and where I got them (a few posts later). 4pipes did something very similar.
