Phiggs54's & Cabinetman's comments definitely hit home -
My daily driver (a 2011 VW GTI) has ALL the nice toys, and I love driving it because everything is so well integrated into a balanced, fun & practical package. Boosting it to 274HP & 317 ft/lb.s torque doesn't hurt the fun factor, either...
But the BOSS is being purchased with a different purpose in mind. I seriously doubt there will be much fretting over Bluetooth connectivity once it arrives!! Most missing features that I find to be 'must haves' can be added later if I really need them, anyway.
When I had an '08 Corvette Z51, I always felt rewarded by its incredible performance value, on-track driving dynamics and hatchback versatility. That let me look past the 'Pinky Ring' public stereotype, the flimsy, nonsupportive seats and the cheap interior.
Unfortunately, Chevrolet is increasing Vette prices big-time for 2012 - around $4k for a 3LT package Grand Sport manual Coupe. Better seats and stereo are the only real improvements to justify the huge price jump. I was really interested in getting another Vette, but they've now priced me out of that market.

I wretch at their very sight. My brother has had several - they make me yawn. I don't buy foreign cars any more either, so it's just not happening. Foolish? Foolish to what? describe an ugly car as what it is - ugly?

While I will admit that the E90/92 M3 lacks the visual presence of the Boss, or even the previous generation E46 M3, you shouldn't discount a car purely on looks. I completely understand if it isn't your taste, but judging a car solely on its country/continent of origin seems a bit short sighted.

I'd love to drive a new M3, or any number of other European vehicles. However. I'll always be a Mustang owner, largely because my father and grandfather were both Ford dealers, so I'm pretty loyal, and I can only own one new car at a time.
