Anyone else get a quote on the Boss yet? I know it varies from state to state but was wondering how bad it will be. I tried to get a quote from State Farm but the agents never call back so today I checked then called the fordautoinsurance.com site and it is not too bad.
Clean record
100/300 100K, Personal injury 10K, comp 250 deductible 500 for collision, towing and rental at 30/day. F150 $490 and only $441 for the Boss (6 months). $30 less for either no towing or 1000 deductible collision. ...and yes I said Boss 302 not GT, gave them the VIN
FL is not the most expensive state but getting insurance is tough down here. They said they will not write a policy to start if you have any at fault accident or tickets (FL). I was however thinking in the range of 600-700 for 6/mo for the Boss even with a multi discount.

When you take your vehicle to a participating dealership or body shop for a covered repair, you can receive2:

No quote yet, but I'm anticipating a rate hike just due to the difference in replacement value between my '06 and the BOSS.

It will be commensurate with the value of the car, not higher due to the high performance aspect. I expected a big premium for my GT500 and it was in line with other non-performance vehicles that cost the same.

I am not an expert in insurance but from what I am told here in FL is that rates depend on many factors. They supposedly take into account the performance aspect (V6 less then GT), the accident rate of the model in general, the theft rate of the car in general, etc.
Then of course the drivers age, record and others of driving age in your household, even if you are renting to someone with the same psychical address.

If it is not going to be a daily driver, try Heacock Classic 800-678-5173. I persently have my Terminator insured with them and will add my Boss when it arrives. I had my Terminator with State Farm and Heacock was at about 70% of State Farm premimums. This is for stated value insurance. Heacock does have some stipulations on maximum mileage, where you store your car, etc. I think you will be suprised as I was when I got my quotes.

HaHa. That's my concern as I have not owned a high performance car in over a decade. I can see me testing the rev limiter a lot the first few weeks i own the car If you can swing it get the highest deductible you can. Not only is the rate lower but submitting claims for under a grand will drive up your rates.

Anyone have any idea if the insurance companies will differentiate between the Boss and the LS? Do lower production versions of the same car ever cost more? Thanks

I think the higher value and two seated vs four seater will make it more expensive to insure and not the limited production. From a parts replacement perspective it's not that much different from a Boss.

Those interested might like to get a quote from Progressive. In my case it beats the closest mayor competitor by $125 every six months. That includes a 15% discount for paying the policy in full.

Great prices ...... Im paying 620.00 a year, full coverage, agreed value up front with roadside service and towing for a 2003 Cobra Vert and 2011 GTCS Pace Car Replica.

Comparing auto rates is pretty useless. There are literally hundreds of factors that determine your premium. The zip code you live in is one of the major ones. Your credit rating, length of time driving, length of time you have owned that car, wheteher you own your home or rent, etc. are all part of it. It's not just about your driving record anymore.
As to how the companies are going to rate the car, I would venture that it will be more for a Boss than a Gt but doubt they will make a distinction between LS and non since it is basically jsut a trim package as far as replacement cost and street performance.
Also, be careful with the speciality car insurance companies, a lot of the time, the stated value that you insure it at is only what they agree to pay for a total loss and only for a designated time period. After that time period, they will pay present market value regardless of the stated value. Sometimes that agreed period is the date of application only. Also, if you go over on mileage, some companies charge a very high over mileage fee but many just deny coverage. They also usually include a stipulation about who can drive the car and for what purpose. It can be great coverage but you have to make sure you know the in's and out's because it doesn't work like regular car insurance.

True, it is a four seater with the seat removed. You could argue that point with them if it came up.

The Hartford is another good option both for regular and classic car insurance as and when you need it. That’s who I’ve been going with all these years.

The Insurance company figures you are just going to keep it mostly in the garage like the majority of GT500 owners.
