I'm rethinking my stripe mods - input needed
Here's my try at this.
If anyone is inclined to ask, sorry I do not have time to do a shop for you. I didn't really have time to do this one for myself.

Chris the blue looks fantastic with the black stripes but if you do not want to spend that kind of money I understand. I think it would be a mistake to take the stripes off, if you want to tone it back some, paint the roof and leave the white stripes on the hood and roof.
I am going to put a LS type spoiler on mine and paint the deck lid black on top. Depending on how it looks I will most likely paint the roof to match the body but not mess with the hood. I will also add a set of louvers, this will be a more retro look for me. I would love to do the black in flat but do not want to spend that kind of money.

If you like white stripes this is the best way to go. I do not like a white roof at all.
I bought a 2010 Boss-style C-Stripe kit for my 08 V6 and I am just waiting for the right time within the coming few days or weeks to have them put on. They will be solid with no break so I do not have to pose with the Boss 302 lettering. It will come with extra lettering including "Mustang" if I want to use it but I am just going to locate the Pony emblems back on the fenders floating in the black C section.
Still deciding on a matching hood stripe. I never liked the 1969 Boss-style vast expanse of hood painted black.

Agree with others, the biggest mistake (and the one thing that pisses me off) was the color options Ford chose to offer on the Boss (both the Street Boss and the LS).
I'm definitely repainting / restriping my Kona Blue Boss. The roof will be Kona Blue although I did give serious thought to a wrap to preserve the original paint I decided against that route because it is my car and I am going to modify it my way, so what if it hurts the "collectibility". The hood and side stripes will be removed. My biggest decision now is what color to use for the restripe process. Obviously toying with both gloss black and matte black along with some other less obvious choices. I may even change out my wheels and color coordinate them to the stripe choice - ahhh the choices - I know I'm driving my family crazy with all the "what if" scenarios

People can talk about the "collectability" all they want, but I hope these cars get driven. There's no reason why you can't go beat the snot out of these or DD them. Sure, a few guys will park them in a garage and keep the miles off, but I hope people get them out on the track.
That said, if you're going to drive it, then mod it how you like. No shame in that.

I still would have liked to see Sync in the car, but that's a moot point now. It's designed to have no creature comforts, but you can always add your own.
If it were mine, I'd add a in-dash screen with external cameras mounted front/rear and use for chase/lead cams.

You could mount a small camera on the lower opening or brake duct line (provided it doesn't obstruct the flow much), then run that back to the unit. Same goes for the rear. They make units that bolt on top of the license plate that would work nicely for track use. You can set them up to monitor front/rear positons, or give you a new perspective on the road. Some even go as far as recording from this.
It is hard to say being this is a new car. If the buyer (like many people that bought this Boss) are into the classic Boss, then it will hurt. However there will be just as many people into newer cars and modding that will want one. The thing about classic Ford people unlike Chevy guys and others is that most Ford people want the car 100% factory right down to the paint dab on the diff when it was filled.
I disagree with some that think this car will be worth equal or more of it's value in the near term. Since the car will be made in 13 the 12's will deprecate. No one will buy a 12 for more then the original MSRP when you still get a 13. A lot depends on the amount of cars built. Somewhere there is a absolute number of the cars for 2012. I think Ford will stick with that number and not build more for demand.
Why? Why would they go through the trouble of an allotment and quarter builds if they are just going to add more? I may be wrong I don't know if they did the same with the Shelby's but why turn down orders now from people that want one from a dealer without an allotment if they are just going to build more? This might change with the 13's but lets hope not.
In 5 years depending on how many are being resold, wrecked and if the build was only two years the value may be high but I doubt more then the original price. In 20 years, who know?

I don't really see the '12 losing value once the '13 comes out. If nothing is added performance-wise, and the rumored styling change to mimic the '69 is true, they'll be equally valuable to the right people.
