After being away for 5 or so years. Yes, I still have my factory ordered VB 2006 Pony; only 35 K miles on it and as flawless as I could keep it (repaired stone chips).
I recently suffered a tragedy regarding the classic Firebird I have been restoring for the past 22 years. It was finally ready for paint, but the highly recommended guy I gave it to to complete that task not only took my money, but left the car outside in Oklahoma the entire time he had it. Everything inside and outside rusted and I just had to walk away. I just could not face having to completely start over at my age and sink a pile of $$$ into a car that I already had more into than it would ever be worth.
It was time for me to get out of the old car restoration hobby and realize that I am truly a Mustang guy.
So I just picked up 2012 CO Boss 302 #1918 and now have 2 ponies in the garage. The car is completely stock with 11,300 miles on it. I am the 3rd owner.

Mustang Freak: I have been combing through all the Boss specific posts and thought I saw that you originally had the car built 2 after mine (1920)?
First off, I was fairly lucky. I went through Carvana as opposed to any of the various car dealers out there. Carvana will ship the car straight to you for a couple hundred no matter where the car is at the time of purchase. They also had a decent selection and their worry-free 7 day, no questions asked return policy. In addition, this was the only Boss in their inventory with no "imperfections". I also got the Track Key (activated), the Recaro/Torsen option, and BOTH the Ford car cover and the complete Boss owners kit minus the engraved keychain.
First impression is that it indeed is a race car with license plates. A complete blast to drive. Then I tried out the Track Key. OMG
Other observations: It is WAY quieter on the road than my 06 Pony. Did not expect that at all. Almost as quiet as the wife's newish BMW X3. As others have stated, the Recaros are really, really comfy. I am waiting to replace all four of the 8 year old (original) P-Zeros before I really take it out into the boonies to enjoy. I have already taken it to Ford to have all the fluids changed out.
I really did my homework figuring out what I wanted to replace my classic with. The reviews for the Boss basically stated that it was the best solid rear axle Mustang ever. Period. I thought about an earlier Shelby, but reviews for those said just go slap a supercharger on a 05 -09 GT and you have basically the same car for a lot less $$$.

I ordered mine 2/14/12 and picked her up on 10/11/12. It's been love ever since! She's my smile maker and when I had my track key installed I was giddy! The grey key collects dust and she still gets stares wherever I go. I haven't owned many fast cars but this one is just a blast and I enjoy driving it. I only have 21k on her so I pretty much only drive her when the weather is awesome. The Recaros are fantastic and I also got the matching car cover and Torsen diff. I wish you nothing but the best with it! Remember this it's the smiles not the miles per gallon!
