Was in and out in five minutes.

They said the best they could do was $10k over sticker.

I'm surprised they let me walk after placing $51,494 on the table.

(Sticker + sales tax)

The search continues.

They know you're serious. I hope they kept your phone number. They may be calling.

Huh, guess they're hoping for a sucker to walk in... too much short-sightedness will only hurt them in the long run. Unless there are enough fools in their area willing to support the stealership people's crystal meth habit.
Good luck with your search. Supposedly a Boss LS was sold here for $15-$20k markup. Wish people would stop rewarding greed like that.

FYI

Received two phone calls this morning from dealers I had called earlier in the week, both with a markup of $10K.

They were just "checking in, one customer had backed out, blah blah blah" and was seeing if I were still interested. I told them yes, at STICKER. They said they would keep me in mind.

Wonder if this is an indication of the market or their own greed slowly backfiring ?

OH, and both dealers are over 1000 miles from me. Wish the dealer yesterday only 65 miles would now call back LOL

TFW is wrong with this world?

There's nothing like commiting to spend $50,000 dollars to a company on the basis of a largely discressionary purchase...and being treated like they're doing you a favor by letting you have a car at all.

Sorry you guys are going through this crap.

You know, I'm not surprised by any of this. The dealer perhaps baiting by offering allocations it doesn't have and dealer making big profit but jacking up the price over MSRP. It is a Boss 302 after all. But you know FORD doesn't dictate resale on it's vehicles. It really does suck but it's reality. I got **** lucky to get my Kona Blue 302 at MRSP but will be lucky if I see it by Christmas! Deysha has confirmed my order is in the factory so I doubt my dealership will be calling me with an allocation issue. I really dso wish you luck with your LS. Perhaps you can tell your story to someone at FORD and get some satisfaction.

Unfortunately, "someone at Ford" really can't (or will not) do anything. They put a "suggested" retail price on the car and the dealer, being an independent sales organization, can mark it UP or DOWN as necessary for market conditions. Basic economics.

It's the buyer who executes a sale with an ADM that keeps the dealers in the game with asking more money than sticker.

Hopefully these buyers (demand) are diminishing and with more and more units being built and sent out to dealers (supply) the available buyers (not willing to play the ADM game) will force the prices to retreat.

You may have had better luck if you had given them the impression you were going to finance through them. Something to consider in your tactics.

Very well (and accurately) stated.

Had a dealer call me back today, 1000 miles away, said the best they could do was $5k over.

I offered $2k over AND they ship it enclosed to me. Said they would think about it and get back to me..

Local dealer called this morning, and said the best they could do was still $10K over.

I reiterated that I have a deal in Oct. at sticker, and for them to only call me back if they could match it.

This dealer called today, open on the 4th of July.

Said he ran it by his boss, and boss said no, sticking to $5k over, and if I wanted it shipped it would be $6k over .
