How will Ford handle stripe warranties on '13s

With some '13's started to be released and delivered, it seems reasonable to assume Ford has found a fix for the stripe adhesion issues. I bought one of the '13s that made it out and I do have some issues, however I'm sure they will normally warranty just the areas showing the issue.

My concern is that all of these other cars being released are getting all of their stripes re-done (or so I assume) rather than simply affected areas. They seem to feel the original stripes are not up to par. Will they then replace all of my sub-par stripes? I am afraid that the areas unaffected currently will have issues further down the road and beyond the warranty.

Then again, maybe yours will have less issues, who knows.

I assume anything outside the 3yr/36k will be on your head to cover unless Ford announces a formal recall or perhaps a TSB extending strip coverage.

The only area that should have been affected is the small portion of stripes on the nose. The bubbling had something to do with how they were adhering the stripe to the plastic bumper. The rest of the stripes were applied to metal and should not have the bubbling issue.

However if there was damage elsewhere caused in shipping or a poor installation at the factory I would ask to have them redone. I doubt that any issues similar to what they had early in production will show up on the unaffected portions. It should be the same as how they applied the stripes on the '12s, which were only on metal surfaces, and I don't recall hearing about any large issue with those.

Ok, I didn't realize it was only the nose section. I have the small bubbles in the stripes on the hood but I've never had stripes on a car, so I don't know if that is normal or not. I guess I'll just try to get them to warranty it and see what happens. Thanks for the info.

It will be fine. As soon as cars start shipping we'll know they have a fix and a supply of replacements. Just file a warranty claim. Been through this before!

The factory put one of my rocker stripes 1/4 inch too far back and they replaced it no questions asked.
