How to track a CSX Transportation railcar
With a railcar # you can track a CSX Transportation railcar, as follows:
Call CSX (1-877-744-7279) and then pick option 5 for railcar information, then option 3 for locate, which connects you to the TouchTrace automated tracing system. Once connected to TouchTrace you say "location". It’ll then ask you to speak the railcar initials (letters only) and then the numbers. Next say “done”, and the system will look-up and report the latest location information it has for the railcar.
The above worked for me when tracking our 2011 pony from AAI to So. Florida back in January 2011.

Understand that Ford uses many different rail lines to ship our cars across the country. In this case SoFl05GT's car was headed to Florida and CSX is the main rail system along that route. The CSX dispatcher is not likely to have any idea where your car is within the rail system if it is on another rail carrier.
