How many miles were on the odometer when u took delivery of your Boss 302?

I'm going to be making the trip to the dealer shortly (maybe today) to order. I want to put some type of stipulation in the contract that addresses mileage on the odometer when I pick it up.

Back when I picked up my then-new 2006 GT a day after it supposely arrived, it had 15 miles on the odometer. I didn't mention it to the dealer at the time.

I've had nothing but good experiences with this dealer, but I still had visions of the salesperson / manager taking it out for a spin. I don't want to have the same thoughts for this vehicle.

I do know that Ford will test drive certain vehicles (thanks, YellowBoss for the below photo).

Was just curious about your odo readings when you picked up your new Boss.

Thanks.

Mine had a sticker from Ford saying they put on 16 for QC reasons. It ended up with 26 by the time I took delivery. Considering how many times it was loaded and unloaded during delivery, I wasn't surprised.

To me, being road tested at AAI is a very good thing - if something isn't quite right, it's the best place to have it adjusted.

My vehicle was an audit vehicle, and iirc, it was in the high teens when I got it.

Trying to put a stipulation on the miles at delivery may be difficult - why not just say you want to be called when the transporter arrives, so you can see it come off, get the PDI, and then you're on your way with a big smile on your face.

Mine had 13 miles on it. When I asked why, I got some BS that part of the dealer prep required them to drive it 8 miles to get past the detuned programming. This is after I told my salesman to not let anybody drive it. So make sure you stipulate that no one at the dealer drives it, not just customers. I pray they didn't beat on it with a cold motor.

I agree. I didn't have any problem with it at all. I have no idea how the other 10 miles got put on it but life's too short to worry about it now. I was just so happy that it finally got delivered, I could have cared less.

13 miles on mine. The salesman said he drove it across the street to fill it with gas which would have accounted for 1 mile round trip.

I'm not worried about it.

Not something to get worked up over. I hope anyone buying one of these will drive it as intended.

Mine had 7 on it. It came off the truck, they gas put in it and then I took it. I pulled all the plastic and stuff off myself.

Mine was delivered to the dealership with 8 miles (musta been driven around the Motor City by Eminm). However by the time I took delivery it had somehow gone to 22 miles.

We rounded up the usual suspects for neutralization.

That is just wrong.

I was clear I did not want anyone "test" driving it and they were clear it would not be done. It was in the PDI when I arrived but not messed with. I was OK with the 16 miles at AAI and happy the guys at the dealer made sure no one got the keys that should not have.

You honestly think the salesman wouldn't drive a new boss if it came in, especially the managers.

This is the problem with getting the first Boss to arrive at a dealership. This is also why I asked him to not let anybody drive it. I guess he figured that didn't include him. And of course he wants me to rate him as "fully satisfied".

Mine had 30 miles on it.

Not sure how many were test miles by Ford, and honestly I don't care. Even if somebody test drove it at the dealership, it just doesn't bother me. I doubt they could do anything to the car that I won't do myself, and Ford has overbuilt this car quite a bit. One aggressive test drive won't make me like my car any less, or make it any less reliable.

I agree, the only way to really damage it would be to drive it when cold down a drag strip, reapeadtly. I hope no dealer is going to even be able to do that.

Eight miles, all the dealer did was put gas in it - I removed and documented all the plastic myself
