I would have only driven it in the summer. I was lucky with the winter, I was there for one of the mildest in record. But Alyeska ski are still hot over 900" of snow. Yes, 900". They got 100" in one week, that was some great snowboarding.

I'll get to drive it from April to November. The way I look at it seven months a year is a hell of a lot better than not having it at all. I get to pick it up in two weeks and am jumping out of my skin in anticipation.

Hey Brewmaster, do you work at one of the Anchorage micro-breweries? Midnight Sun is my favorite, with Mooses Tooth, Sleeping Lady, and Glacier Brewhouse right in there. I'm wearing a Humpys Sockeye Red shirt as I type this

The world may be shrinking. Maybe we ran into each other when you lived here. I was the brewmaster at the Snowgoose/Sleeping Lady Brewing Co. for the first 5 years it opened (1996 to 2001). Why are you coming to town next week?

Mike

Business and then some snowboarding. You must know David Urban (Urban Wilderness). I was working at bp when I was up there and met David there, although we did not work together

I was guessing you might be in that industry. Dennis Urban still works at bp and is a close friend. I won world beer cup and great American beer festival awards after tweaking his home brew recipe for the Urban Wilderness Pale Ale.

Enjoy the boarding. We just got several inches of fresh powder.

Yes, Dennis. I knew a David Urban growing up. I made it to the Alaska brewfest in 2001 & 2002. I'll be at the Snow Goose some night next week

How far did I drive to pick up my Boss?
Well there's several stories to tell, but the short answer is I drove 500 miles round-trip to pick the Boss up and re-join to my faimily who were on vacation.
The Slightly longer story is my dealer, whom I'm on great terms with traded a Ford Raptor to a Ford Dealer 550 miles North, who the delivered an Orange Boss to a Ford Dealer 700 miles East, who then shipped a Blaze Yellow Boss back to my original Ford Dealer 600 miles West.
Crazy I know, but that was my 2nd Mustang in 7 or 8 months, and there were only 2 YB Boss's left to buy with 600 miles, so my dealer stepped up to the plate and got the job done. I stepped up too with Cash,.... well, O.K., Visa card actually:-)

What if i walked? Technically no driving until we hit the dealership! Then it was the very looong way back, maybe 150-200 miles around the streets of the coastal bend. (Corpus christi, padre island, port aransas, portland, ingleside, then corpus again)

Shopped around and ....

3 miles. My usual local dealer, but I was also dealing at the same time with another dealer about 250 miles away. He was a bit cheaper, but with gaz, time and whatever else, decided to stick with my local. But I did tell my local that loyalty has a price and did inform them of the extra 300$ they are charging me.

They are usually pretty good and I'm sure I'll get it back somehow with the service guys.

Later. 6 feet of snow and spring in 19 days
