HID swap from GT

Has anyone considered doing an HID swap from the stock HIDs that come in the GTs? I was wondering how this would work and how much it would cost, or if you were even able to buy the package from Ford.

Do a search.
There are several threads about HID's.

I installed the OEM HID's on my 2011 GT. Bought the lights on Ebay for $600 and spent another $50 on the connectors and wiring. Only took about two hours to do the swap.

Awesome, do you have a part number for them? I want to see what a dealer can price them out for.

Agree; the more details the better it can help/guide us if we decide to do this mod. Thanks!

Just called a dealer who said they can do the set of HIDs for 1600 and Ford normally sells them for 2400. Gonna have to find one from a rear ended GT or a shop that salvages these things.

Were those bought from a person or from a salvage place that has an ebay store.

That is still good compared to what a new set will run you.

Do both your high and low beams function? I've got a set of these to install but I have been waiting to see more DIY info.

Yes, here is a good write-up on the install.

Did you follow that write up to put in your HIDs? It had some good pictures but I did notice it didn't seem to have as much explanation as most write-ups usually do.

I just saw that the new Bosses come stock with HID's, little jelly and pissed, however I wonder if there is a way to swap in the HID's from a '13 to a '12 easier then from a '12 GT to a '12 Boss.
