H13 Silverstar Bulbs for $20 a pair

Due to their inconsistent life span, I am not a huge fan of Sylvania Silverstar bulbs. But - the stock bulbs are awful and Amazon has H13 Silverstars for $20 a pair. Thought I would share.

And at least they have a 1 year warranty.

How long do they last? Do they burn out even if you don't use them very often? In other words to they burn out from use or from bounding around while driving?

I have to agree with the inconsistent nature of theses bulbs. I use them in both of my cars, I installed them in my Mustang back when purchased the car in August of 07. I still have that same set the car 4 years and 20K miles later. Yet in my Altima, I'm on my 3rd set of lights and only had the car about 20 months. Who knows what makes some sets last a long while and others only last months.

Do these fit? It stated they don't fit a Mustang.

H13 is correct, here is a picture of them and the stock bulb in the Boss. I have used them for 10 years and one only ever burn out one, turned out there was a problem with the wiring in the Explorer.

You bet!

The vehicle I am having issues with these lights is my Suburban. Maybe dirt or moisture was getting in there and burning them out?

They are back up to $28 on Amazon. You can find them for $15 on ebay includes shipping.

I'm not sure why the seem inconsistent to some...I've used Silverstars in my car, pickup and motorcycle for the last 5 years and not had a single failure. They do a good job of improving night driving visibility.

Remember not to touch the bulbs with your bare hands or fingers when installing.
