Grabber Blue 2013 vs 1970

Watching Mecum Auctions today and noticed the awesome 1970 Boss Mustang in Grabber Blue. Apologize in advance if this has already been discussed but is the 2013 Grabber Blue a slightly different shade? The 1970 Grabber Blue appears a shade lighter.

Thanks.

Maybe it faded from age.

Yeah...looked that one up on the Mecum site. Says it was a full nut and bolt restoration. So..I don't think the paint was faded. How much did they sell that bad boy for?

That's pretty amazing right there!! Can't wait to hear what that 1967 Super Snake brings. They kept saying a seven figure car. Maybe I'll get to see it in the museum at MMP this fall.

The 225k car was a 429 Boss. The 302 boss went for 75 I think.

In the recap of the top ten highest selling cars for the Houston auction...they said the 1970 Grabber Blue Boss 302 went for $220,000. Maybe the announcers got it wrong...but Wow!! That's a ton of money.....right up there with the 429's. I've seen some very nice examples that were sold for $70-80K. I suppose since this one was a fresh resto...it commanded more money.

My brother just finished a full restoration on a 70 mach1 in grabber blue. When are weather gets better around here we plan on getting my boss and his mach together and take some pictures. I will post them it will be interesting to see how close they are. One thing for sure is his paint job is a lot nicer.
