Got TracKey installed today
I was going to wait till spring to get TK but the weather seems to be holding and it was a nice day so I had the dealer install it.
No charge for the TK, dealer charged me $90 (actually $60 because I had a first service discount coupon) to install.
The SVT mechanic took me for a test ride after the install. This guy really knows how to drive and the car performed even better than with the black key. Lopey idle kicked in and when we were stopped at a red light you could really hear it. We both smiled and said "nice".
Got back to the dealership and the lope seemed gone, he gave it a quick rev and the lope returned.
I then headed home in the car. There is a much more aggressive response to the car and the exhaust sounds louder (even at cruising speed). Very please with it.
Only problem so far is I have not been able to get the lopey idle back. At several stop lights it never kicked in and when I parked it in my garage it still wouldn't kick in (despite revving it several times). Perhaps it's just a learning phase for the PCM.
Anyway, for $60 I spent I really couldn't go wrong.
