I must be stupid or confused. I ordered an LS car and it is to be here 3rd qtr. Are you saying that I must pay extra for the track key? I thought it was part of the package. Second I was told that the track key was the same as the 302R. What the heck is going on. Would someone from Ford please make this plain as day so we all understand and eliminate all the delivery and BS questions. Jim, KonaBossMO is correct on all counts. Ford Racing is working hard to get the key out. Especially to us Q1 and Q2 deliveries. Hopefully it will be out when you take delivery later in the build sequence. (And incidentally the car's ECU will be reflashed. The red key will only activate the new ECU software which is not currently loaded in the car's computer).

Griping and moaning to Ford Racing no matter how gratifying to you will not help the situation and only alienate and distract. Yeh, the marketing people screwed up (big time) and promised more than could be delivered within the launch window. Ford Racing knows this. But let them do their job, be patient as best you can be and let these guys get the reflash out to us.

We'll have someone at Ford get that response off to you immediately. The TracKey info is out there and it's been pretty clear for some time what is going to happen. The only new deveolpment is the delay. The TracKey could never be the same at the 302R. Think about it, the race cars run 97 octane Sunoco race gas, have a different exhaust, and have no emmisions requirements. I'm sure there are some similarities but they cannot be the same.

Ah i see. I dont understand why Florida would be a CARB state, we dont have any emissions testing, state inspections, etc....

 

Maybe the list is wrong? It's hard finding the states but I thought there was around 17 of them

 

I'm a hippie from CA who actually experienced the change in air quality CA has underwent since implementing smog laws and anti-smoking legislation. I enjoy breathing, but I just dislike the acronym and want my Boss and Trackey now!
