I can't wait for the track key to come out so I can ... uh, hey! I don't even have my car yet!

Perspective people, perspective.

I think the lopey idle was one of the features most wanted by everyone.
Is there some reason that we can't get the same idle/performance result with an aftermarket tune? Say someone like Bremspeed? They wrote a killer performance program for my wife's 2011 C/S GT.
The only big difference is that the program has to be up-loaded everytime you want to use it. About 5 minutes time. I'm ignoring supposed warranty issues.

This.

I don't know about the rest of you (that have taken delivery at this point) but I'm not liking my BOSS any less just because some tuning from the manufacturer hasn't been released yet.

I'd like to share a tip with the Boss owners.
My Boss salesman said to me, "If the Trac key comes out whlie you are traveling on vacation and you choose to download it elsewhere, don't let that Dealer charge you.
When I asked what he was getting at, he said we'll do this for 'free'. but there's talk thas some dealers may want up to 500 bucks to download/activate the Trac Key. So just remember, we'll do it for free.
The point of this post being, maybe your dealer will do the same, ....... or maybe it will pay to shop around a bit?
You mileage may vary,...
Cheers,
Jouster

Touche',.... I'd say you're bang on with that comment.
The Boss has brought a LOT of joy into my life as a car that's just great to drive and own!

If Ford fails to come through due to emissions, maybe some tuner can accomplish the same features through a SCT tune

I have a Brand new SCT XCAL3, that I had for my car I traded in, I was thinking of selling it, but now we'll see, I thought by law the warranty only gets voided if you damage car and was deemed through the mod?

I don't think they intended that. Ford has it in house process to meet CARB so they felt confident, but because of the "unusual" use of mykey programming CARB gave it a thorough going over. After that, it's my bet they felt the need to change something.

Hey guys,

I checked on this again for you, and they are still waiting on CARB approval. Hopefully by the end of summer… which ends September 21st.

That will give me 10 days of play before my car goes away for the winter.

I'd be shocked if we see this released before end-of-year, the way things have been going.

Maybe it will be available within 30 days of approval. I hope the approval comes soon so we can move on to threads about how cool it sounds and how it improves lap times.

Perhaps Ford needs to partner with American Muscle. They could supply the Red Key tune through American Muscle and not even bother with CARB.
Having an aftermarket tuner supply the tune would take care of all the Gov't red tape.

I want some money back from Ford off the sticker price for the Track key...it was advertised as "part" of the Boss experience and it's not available. Complete BS!! I am sorry but I sell cars for a living and if we couldn't provide part of the purchase within 90 days ...let's just say we wouln't promise something we can't deliver. Not ANY dealers fault but Ford's
