Even if I dont feel any power difference on my Butt Dyno, I will still be happy
idle and the Launch control,
Ive had many many 69 Mach1s with Isky cams, and the Rough Idle is what I miss the most from new cars.
Isnt there a www.trackkey.ford.com or somthing like that to see progress of its release?

I can only imagine it's emissions related and they may have had to go back to change things slightly in the tune to make it pass emissions standards.
Bingo.

And to add to this- if it is in fact an emissions issue, that means it is doing damage to the cats which will cost ford $$$$.

Trackey

Having done the track attack I can tell you the car's at Miller had the program, said Trackey active on the gauge, and they told us that they had just got the program, the things I noticed was improved throttle response, engine breaking, the lopey idle, did not play with the launch control, also noticed car was jerkey in first gear under very light throttle, but throttle response was way better, and I didn't think it was bad without trackey, mechanics there said it makes pedal and throttle blade 1 to 1 just like a aftermarket tuner

The delay with TracKey is emmisions related. CARB is running Ford through the ringer on this and it's already been stated the lopey idle will have to be detuned a bit. The lopey idle is overrun which will cause additional unburnt fuel and higher emmisions. Also the tune is not the same as the race cars. The race cars run high octane race gas, have no emmisions equipment and a different exhaust. I'm sure there are plenty of parameters that are the same but the tune is not identical. Now if TracKey makes adjustments for higher octane fuel that will be a win.

I'm more interested in what TracKey will do for lap times. The lopey idle will be cool but I'll rarely use launch control. The wait continues...

I'm sure the track key will be cool but I think you are expecting way too much out of it.
I'ts not going to add 50whp or anything.

Be patient, much more stress free life

A long tube header they tried that cost $3500 (!) in materials bumped torque by nearly 60 ft/lbs. And from what I read Trackey should allow for a higher octane, no?

Al, I believe the issues are with the reglatory agencies, and not with Ford.
The regulatory agencies didn't promise us the Track Key, Ford did.

Ford engineers. I asked where best to spend my money on modifying my Boss. I was told lighter wheels would indeed help, but weight along was not enough. Many aftermarket wheels are not perfectly round so that affects handling. A blower would unlock power but shorten engine life and upset balance and purpose of car. They were justifiable proud of the work on a production line car. I was told they had fabricated many different header types and one long set, sans cats, so not production worthy unlocked the higher torque numbers. But heat resistant material costs and the cat issue shelved them.

This is the link from Ford Racing and you can supposedly be updated via e-mail when TracKey is available. Unlike the rest of you I will have to try and find somewhere in Germany to get it done.

I think you meant engine braking, not breaking. There are enough threads about the MT82 breaking, let's not jinx the motor.

Have heard the same thing (except the "bit")

I'd want it just for the idle alone. Freaking California.

Well if this is true that's too bad. It sounds like Ford over-promised and over-hyped the Red Key.
I think the lopey idle was one of the features most wanted by everyone.
