Gauge Package

Last night the designer mentioned about the gauges being specially designed. Outside of the font, I can't tell much of a difference..

Do I understand correctly that the Boss 302 gets the base GT 4 guage cluster and not the premium GT 6 guage cluster? If so, do all Boss 302's get the 3 guage cluster on top of the dash that the Laguna Seca gets? I feel like I should know this, but I can't find it in print anywhere.....

Only the LS's get the gauge pod.

I understand that the Boss 302 gets the base GT 4 guage cluster and not the premium GT 6 guage. It appears that the LS has the same and also the 3 guage cluster dash set. Or it seems that way from the order quide. I would question Ford's reason to limit the guage count on the Boss if that is true. I hope I am reading it wrong!

What two gauges are on the premium GT that are not on the base?

Nope. That's how it is. 4-Guage cluster on Boss. 4-Guage + Dash Pod (x3) on LS. Dumb.

Oil pressure and engine temp, but those 'standard' gauges are apparently actually just idiot lights.

None of this is relevant if you're planning on installing an AiM dash at some point

Actually it's oil pressure and volt meter. Engine temp and fuel level are included.

Does anyone have a picture of the BOSS dash to confirm this?

First post in this thread, plus here's the gauge pod. The font for the pod gauges is unique, and is not (yet?) available from FRPP.

If this is the case, I'm sorry, but I'm pretty peeved.

I don't mind the 40+ price.

I don't mind any nav.

I don't mind any security.

I don't mind any Sync.

I love everything about this car, but to skimp on gauges and not have an option? I mean, I know the tach was an option in '69 and '70, but my 70 has more gauges factory than this '12? Really? That's just lovely.

It is. The Boss dash is identical save for the missing pod.

EDIT: For confirmation - see below

Here's an illustration from the owner' manual. The gauge faces are black with illuminated numbers, like the 05-09 cars.

Also, see this thread.

Why would you want that? It adds weight and slows the car down

Actually, I believe that is correct. There is no MyColor or ambient lighting. Hope you are well, Roger!

That's correct, no My Color.

Ford did so many things right on this car but they have also made a number of really head scratching choices/decisions as well.
