Engine light

I ran a C5 earlier at the airport. Three runs- 40 roll 60 roll and a dig. I won every race by at least 5 cars. after we ran I now have an engine light on.

Has this happen to anyone else?
Miss fire maybe?
I tried both keys and it stays on..................

That's cool. I've never had that happen, but I would just reset it and see if it comes back on. Check engine lights can be so many things. If you're really worried about it, get a scanner and see what code came up.

It's happened to me: several engine lights in the course my 4,500 miles with the car, so far. Sometimes the engine light flutters and goes away after a few seconds; at other times it stays on. It always resets itself after a couple of days. It's a problem other forum members had already reported by the time I got my car, so I don't worry about it. Will have the dealer look at it when the first oil change comes due. A software tweak will probably be all it takes to cure this small annoyance.

If its a misfiire code make sure you have your dealer perform the crank sensor re-learn.

Dylan,.... my L/S had an issue awhile back and threw a few codes right after I got premium gas at a station I normally don't frequent. Since 1995 when I arrived in Texas I found out very quickly that alot of gas stations here have issues with water getting into storage tanks do to so much ground shift/tank leaks etc. (as I have been told),... erase the code/codes....fill the tank back up at your regular place and run a tank through it,....hopefully it will fix itself do to bad gas like mine did. Never had so many problems with un pure gas since I have arrived to Texas,....with this car and many others.

I went to Auto Zone to let them scan it and it said Mulitple Cylinder Miss Fire, I reset the battery and no more light.

Should I go back to the dealer for un update on my Track Key?

Did you have the crank sensor re-learn performed by the dealer? If not, get it done.

Yes, what 2006mach1 said. If your dealer does not know about the "re-learn" call Ford Racing and they will bring them up to date.

On the way home grab a code scanner

Did you mean to say reset the battery? Or did you reset the PCU?.....Either way I'm sure the track key program will not be lost. I'm in the Ft.Worth area as well and alot of bad pump gas around here. You said you went to a 7-11 strange to you,...go back to the station you have run gas with no problem,......fill it up with premium and fill it again when half empty,....if you still get codes do the re-learn at dealer suggested above.

+3 This happens to virtually every Boss put into competition conditions until you get the TSB performed. It's an easy, quick fix. As Scott said, if the dealer has trouble finding the TSB in their system, have them call Ford Racing.
