Dang, almost made it a year without any damage!
Well, picking up some last minute Christmas stuff ruined my day (the day before Christmas Eve actually).
A new extra lifted Raptor covered in mud speeding on 35 in the DFW area decided to blow past me tossing chunks of mud and rock all over the place.
A big clump nailed my hood and flew up into the windshields.
I have a bunch of deep all the way to the yellow primer scratches in my hood (about six clustered together) and five nice micro chips in the windshield.
The glass looks like it has bug guts on it in the sun, but it is the damage.
The spot on the hood is dead center of the open area below the hood decal heading towards the passenger side headlight, right where the light really makes is show!
I have always had a mild dislike for the 4x4 crowd because of this love they have in getting their trucks covered in mud and rocks and the lack of care they have for others...I can't tell you how many times in the North Dallas area I have seen one of these guys going down the highway covered in mud throwing it everywhere showing no care towards others. This jerk in the Raptor was probably doing over 80 right next to the Texas Motor Speedway when he blew past me.
Ughhh...

I feel your pain. Only can wish they get what they give. There are many time in life that you wish you could rip someones heart out and have them watch it beat. Hang Tuff.

With my 99 Gt something similar happened........followed him .........told him he owed me money......after some yelling at each other, gave him an "ultimatum".......he saw it my way and paid for the hood to be repainted and windshield replaced......

No way I could have caught this guy at the speed he was going and it took me too long for it to sink in what had happened or I would have got his tag number.

Too bad. I feel sorry for you to have such a nice car and have some damage so soon. A few years ago I was driving my 1991 LX 5.0 and following a semi when the semi had a rear wheel go onto the shoulder and kick up a stone the size of a half dollar. The stone landed on the highway about two foot in front of my Mustang and then bounced directly into my windshield and exploded. Thankfully, the stone was limestone and disintegrated as it hit my windshield, but it sure made a loud noise when it hit and caused no damage. I was impressed with the strength of that winshield.

That sucks, but I feel like you'd have similar luck everywhere. Chips happen. If there's no way you'd catch him at 80+, then where exactly would you catch him? Cuz that's not fast at all (me being someone that lives near TMS, and wouldn't have any problem passing *him*).
I've got all kinds of chips, but that's just how the road treats ya...

Probably best to get his license plate and claim it through insurance rather than starting a confrontation.....
I once had a situation when I was spectating at a mudding hole and a guy got too close to us and spit rocks and added about 50 door dings into the side of my truck and the others. He flipped us off as he drove off. Definitely a wtf moment

I was thinking the same thing, that is a pretty open stretch until you get to about Cabela's then you usually can't do 40. I'm pretty sure I would take a Boss on the freeway over a lifted Raptor any day.
Of course this being Texas, you do have to consider whether your insurance deductible is worth an armed confrontation.
