Check out this awesomeness for the non-LS cars

That brace hasn't appeared in the verts to date. Actually I'm not sure that it can be installed in verts at all, as I don't recall there being sheet metal there to attach it at the top. The verts have a well to store the top, instead of the package try the coupes have, you can see this in the top image on that page. It's possible the CAD model wasn't configured completely properly, as it was merely being used to illustrate the seat installation.

Now on the other hand, if your purpose is to just show some bling at the local drive-in, then most certainly go ahead and drop the $800, give up the backseat and the ability to get a set of golf clubs or other longer items in with the factory fold down seats.

I am not sure how we would be able to quantify this. But if the 10% increase in torsional rigidity is accurate, it would be a hard gain to ignore.

When I was researching the suspension for my GT500, I remember the guys at Griggs saying the S197 was so much stiffer than the SN95 there wasn't much need/gain. Anyway, I'm not saying I won't put this mod on my car, it would just be nice to know how much difference it actually makes.

Have we confirmed the brace in the 2011 verts yet? Also, could this be something from the GT500 vert that we just didn't notice before? I'm interested if there's a solution aside from the LS piece for less cash.

I am 85-90% sure the brace didn't exist for the verts. I will get a call once the parts guy finds out more info. I don't have useful part number to even start guessing to see if it begins with a B or a C either... :-(

That's the $64 question I guess. If the torsional rigidity is poor, then a 10% improvement makes a difference. If the torsional rigidity is already excellent, then it may not make much difference. e.g. if you were going to blow up an outhouse with a nuclear bomb, making it 10% more powerful wouldn't matter.
