can I sue ford, ls stoped production
I ordered an ls on 2-9-11. and put a deposit on it to seal the deal. now my dealer says because of parts shortage all ls parts are going to build standard boss 302's.
I call fcs and they were very nice but had no info and will call me back.
COME ON FORD, I WANT MY CAR!!!! A DEAL IS A DEAL!!!!

No, you do not have a breach of contract case unless you have some type of assurance that you were going to recieve X product on X date based on the consideration that you provided.
Do you have that?
Do you have that?

Steve, sorry to hear about your troubles. Your deal was with your dealer, not with Ford, so your only recourse is to get your deposit back. You can't sue anyone just because you're not getting an LS.

That sounds like my situation (https://themustangsource.com/f813/my...celled-494248/). Did they actually cancel the order that was in the system?

Sorry about your situation, really.
But, people need to calm down, there are all kinds of supply chain issues going on right now as a result of the earthquake and tsunami. I'm seeing it in my business and we didn't expect any issues. (our local supplier uses an east cost supplier who uses a supplier in Europe who in turn uses a supplier in Japan.) Considering the loss of life and displacement of hundreds of thousands I would hope people could demonstrate some patience.
Now its possible this hold up is totally unrelated to that disaster, in that case if you have an agreement to have the car by X date I suppose you could sue. But if you simply put a deposit down you will have to wait.

I have officially lost faith in humanity.
There was an earthquake and tsunami that killed tens of thousands of innocent people and a.) people are complaining of a delay in their sports car being built and b.) now someone wants to sue because of it. Ever consider how many people lost their wives, husbands, children, etc. in this event, yet it has inconvenienced the build process of your Mustang?

You should probably sue Ford.
Then you should sue the dealer because he's totally screwed you too.
It may be possible to sue one of the suppliers too.
Could you sue the receptionist at the dealer?? I mean did you call first?? She's part of this obvious catastrophic tragedy as well.
In fact... maybe you could go to Washington and propose a bill to stop all of these bastards from making your life miserable.
Or.....
Maybe you could just friggin man up and pull up your skirt and find another car?
