I think I see your point, however, since the SN-95, Mustangs have convertibles designed in. The Fox bodies were actually built, then converted, adding weight and taking away rigidity. I know my SN-95 had extra bracing to make up for the lost roof, but I'm not sure what they do now. In any case, I wouldn't worry about having a convertible now days, as far as handling goes, if you aren't a track rat.
