Shane,
I'll check the box when I get home for what mine are.
I moved my XP8s from my '10 GT to my Boss, and they look identical.

I noticed the RP2 on their web site. Could be a good choice for us. Since you're in TX, let us northerners know how they work for ya!

he said that pad has less modulation than the XP10, but it has the same bite and performance as the XP10. ill take a bit less modulation for pads that last longer. when i started tracking the car i didn't realize how fast i would go through pads. i can stand 10-12 months on a set of tires, but man brake pads get expensive quick if they die every 2 or 3 track days. he emailed back and said he thinks it is the standard rear pad on the stang since 05. do let me know when you can, id like to know for sure.

Shane,
Just checked the box. Mine are 1082. Don't know whats changed, but they worked on my '10 (as do the same Bobcats), and looked fine on the Boss.

I've never read anything that rear calipers/rotors have changed in recent years.

It sounds like you guys are using semi track pads with stock rotors, no? Is there really that much of a difference over the stockies?

Yes, there is a big difference in using pads that are meant for track days but still usable on the street. I have run them for a year.

Wayne, as far as I know all S197's have the same rear caliper, Brembo package or not. The pads may be different but the style of the pad is the same.

Thanks man! Scott, there seemed to be some confusion apparently they list two parts at Carbotech that could fit the boss. no idea what the difference is though.

Further, there is a huge difference between the stock pads and the HP+ in performance, they HP+ just didn't last well. i expect the difference between the HP+ and carbotechs to be huge as well.

Scott, thats what I thought, same since '05.

Shane, looked at Carbotech's site again.
Now I see why you asked. Maybe the 1562 has thicker material that they decided still fits in there. Since it costs more, maybe thats it. Donno.

Can they tell you the difference in 1562 and 1082? If not, maybe they can give a fit guarantee, and make sure you have time to trade them out if they don't fit.

Keep us posted (because I need to order a set for spring too)

Insert short curved end with metal rod inside caliper. Make sure the curved end is touching the two pistons with the metal rod against the rotor, then think pry bar

$52 each for these Raybestos front rotors for those who like to use blanks, might be a good option?

i hit the track this weekend with my new brake setup. i am using carbotech rp2 front pads and xp8 on the rear for the track. swapped to brembo LCF 600+ for fluid and had not one single hint of brake fade. very happy with the track set up.

i run bobcat pads on the front for the street and they work well. they do squeal on the street though, not as bad as the hawk hp+ pads however. i used that full tilt racing pad spreader, its very, very simple to use and works very well. it took me about 15 minutes per side to change the pads.

Shane,

I just got my RP2 and XP8 pads from Carbotech yesterday. $23 shipping--wow, UPS is getting out of control.
Hopefully they have longer life like they claim.
I've got Bobcats on my other Stang, and they are silent on the street.

Glad the track setup worked for you.

3 good track days, then one lighter day (was getting some good shudder under hard braking--think it was bad bedding) has them down to about .26"
Carbotech said .21" is minimum for replacement, so I'll most likely use the XP10 for rotor seasoning since their full lineup is compatible.
I pre-bedded the RP2, so they're install and go.
