KC you are a long time contributor to this site but this info is old as dirt, with the exception of the LS Waiver.

We already have 20 idiots per day asking what the track key does in the 10 page threads w/ all the info.

Anyways, how are you doing?

When I saw this, drunk, I thought he made it a sticky to avoid the 20 idiots per day asking about it and the other two saying they already see the difference with the red key.

Installation of Track Key does what to your warranty?

Reading the document from Ford (post #1, download), it would appear that Page 3 of the documents is saying that if you install a Ford Racing Part in your new car (Boss 302) any failure as a result of installing that part are your problem...not Ford's and will not be covered under the car's New Vehicle Warranty.

IMPORTANT: THIS VEHICLE HAS BEEN MODIFIED WITH AFTERMARKET PARTS AND IS SOLD
AS NEW. THIS VEHICLE'S FORD RACING PARTS ARE COVERED BY THE LIMITED WARRANTY AS STATED ABOVE. THIS VEHICLE'S MANUFACTURER'S WARRANTY WILL NOT COVER ANY REPAIR OR REPLACEMENT OF THE FORD RACING PARTS OR ANY COMPONENT THAT MAY HAVE BEEN DAMAGED BY THE OPERATION OF THESE FORD RACING PARTS. A COPY OF THIS DISCLAIMER HAS BEEN PROVIDED TO ME AND I FULLY UNDERSTAND THE LIMITATIONS WITHIN THIS WARRANTY.

Are they saying that if you have the dealer install the Track Key software, then any subsequent failure while the key is being used won't be covered?

It refers to the three parts mentioned above. Even though it says "including but not limited to" that still only applies to those three unless otherwise stated(e.g. you take delivery with Trackey installed and it's not listed, but "not limited to" would refer to it anyway).

If your transmission scoop picks up a bouncing stick of lit dynamite and it explodes causing transmission failure, then you better have insurance!

COOL

Years ago at a Ford Mitsubishi Dealer I worked at a lady had an engine failure due to Never having changed the oil in the car at about 30k . Her comment I got a warranty why should I change the oil! That was her interpretation. True Story!

Here's another one

A 16 year old girl was givin a new, back in 89 Mustang Gt-Vert Automatic. She brought it in Three times for lack of power. She said it would not go over 50 Miles an hour. This happened 3 times and each time the Tech had an NPF. That's no problem found.

The forth time it came into the shop it was on the Hook and the complaint was the car would not go into gear. The father came in and was furious that this car with only 2000 miles on it was in the shop so much. He was screaming at everybody from service to the salesmen to the owner of the dealership.

The owner assured the father that they would fix the car and after it was done take the Dad & The Daughter for a test drive & make sure everything was ok.

Turns out the trans was grenaded and was replaced with a new ford replacement trans under warranty.

The car was repaired and deemed ok so the Tech, Dad & Daughter hopped in the car for a test drive. This particular dealership was right next to a freeway on ramp so they were going to get on the freeway and check it out.

The daughter pops the stang down into low and proceeds out to the freeway pedal to the metal. She quickly pointed out how the car would still not go over 50. She did not know what DRIVE was and had driven the car always in 1st gear.

Dad calmed down a bit after that.

Car was repaired under warranty since this all came out after the repair.

True Story.

Classic! I remember "Mama's Family" had an episode where one of them got into a car for the first time and asked what "Purndul" meant.
