Is the Boss only for 2012?
Is the Boss only for 2012?
My question is simple, does Ford intend to offer the Boss package for more years then just 2012?
I've been saving for a mustang for some time now, and feel the Boss is likely the right one for me, but want to check the car in person out prior to buying one. Seeing how they are moving fast I wonder if I'm out of luck or not. If they produce a 2013 version I'm confidant I'd be able to get one even if they sold out of the 2012's.
Thanks all.

While Ford hasn't stated that most likely the Boss will only be made two years. From a styling perspective the 2012's are closely following the 1969 cars and the 2013's will closely follow the 1970 cars.
That is my hope 5 Dot 0 (I'm fan of '70 styling over '69 anyway). I have a contact at Ford and am going to ping them and see if they can give me an unofficial answer.
The fact that Ford has been silent doesn't surprise me as they would want to make them seem as exclusive as possible. That said, if they do only do 1 year I'll be hurting if I place my bets wrong.

In the speed channel special they showed internal posters of the 2012 and 2013 cars and what I stated is based off of that. It will air again and I'd record it as it's an excellent resource.
I'm just throwing this out as "food for thought" and it is purely speculation on my part, but have you noticed that:
Ford has been VERY big on honoring the heritage of the marquee this past decade, and I see no reason for that to change any time soon (in fact, I love what they've been doing). So, remember that '69 & '70 did indeed see Boss 302's; but 1971 saw the Boss 351.............. and that after a body style change......................
...just sayin'................

Hi, thank you for the screen grabs.
Unfortunately I do not get SPEED and they insist on not providing the content in an online format...
I do prefer the stripes on cars shown in the pictures to those on the 2012, however both are quite attractive in my book. I wonder, were those alternate design ideas or is that really what they have planned for 2013? No where on the screen grabs does it indicate "2013".
Again, thank you for sharing.

Edit: after looking at the poster closer it does say 2013.

The model years are on the very top of both color pallets. The pallet on the left is labelled "2012" and the one on the right is "2013". Unfortunately the pics in this thread do not show the year labels.
