Boss motor noise...

Just wondering if anyone else has a Boss that has a noise not unlike a rod knock around 2500-2900 rpm on lite throttle especially when cold?? Car just rolled over 400 miles yesterday and I let the car warm up for about 3 minutes before driving home from work...needless to say as I take it very easy untill up to operating temp I heard what sounded like a rod knock.rapping noise until very light throttle. I can even hear it over the exhaust!! As I waited at a light i revved the car and could hear it more clearly than driving. Seems to go away when warm. Is this normal for forged internals or is this an issue? I am supposed to get tuned Tuesday so I might have to wait and see what is going on first.

So could anybody with a delivered Boss take a listen to their cars when cold and let me know if this is normal???? Please?! I am worried sick my new car might need a motor and will go nuts if that's the case!! Esp after my STi disaster

I don't hear rod knock, are you sure it's coming from the front? Mine sounds like an echoing hammer but I'm fairly sure that's because I pulled the plates.

No noise that I've noticed so far. I check more carefully when cold next time....probably later today. I would have noticed it, I'm very sensitive to motor noises.

Thanks guys! I am positive its a motor noise and not exhaust. With the windows ups you can't miss it while revving in neutral at the rpms i specified

It'll be unusually cold here in the morning and will take me a while to warm so I'll be sure to listen closely and let you know. I'm sensitive as all get out anyway so I'd probably have heard it by now, but I've only had the car for two days!

I assure you it was meant in My comment not your's was uncalled for, just trying to lighten it up a bit. I was getting pretty stressed the last few days before mine came in.

I am BEYOND stressed with a car with 400 miles on it with what I believe is a rod knock

Forged pistons will make a faint, hollow knocking sound, until the engine gets up to temp.
How's the trans doing? Will be watching to see if the '11 tranny issues follow the new 2012 Mustangs. I'm sure you Boss owners will be running up thru the gears, quite often!

Andy, I started the car cold this afternoon, but it's around 60 degrees, not really cold. No noise while revving stationary through 3k rpm.
