Boss 351?
Boss 351?
So with the new 650hp 2013 GT500 has a new 5.8(351) motor in a Mustang.
and then with the ALL NEW 2015 Mustang coming out in 2014,
who wants to bet that Ford will introduce the Boss 351 in late 2013 or MY2014. Let's see how much HP Ford can get out of a 351 NA.
See here over 500 hp out of 5.0:

I think Mustang sales for 2014 will fall off a cliff while everyone waits for a ALL NEW, BETTER, FASTER, independent rear suspension'd 2015 Mustang.
Any bets?

Does ford make a 7.0l?
what's in the Rapter 6.2?
If 5.8sc = 650++hp
then 5.8na = 525-550hp
Camaro Z/28 will come out

October 2011 Delivery (sales) Stats:
Mustang sold 4,898 units in October 2011
Total Deliveries in 2011: 61,516
vs
Camaro October 2011 Deliveries (actual sales): 6,119
Total Deliveries in 2011: 76,368
......so Camaro is ahead by 24% of 14,852...THAT'S ALOT!!!!!
I think Ford will try everything (until new 2015 Mustang) to get some more sales and press.
I think should we voice our interests, Ford should build it
a 5.8/351 Boss or 6.2 Boss would be possible, since the motors already exist.
here's the 6.2 Raptor motor data:

Doesn't the CobraJet represent what a Boss 429 was? People weren't road racing the Boss 429 were they? The new CobraJet has two engine choices, both 5.0, one with a supercharger. Considering the cooling problems they have with a non-supercharged engine, not sure the chances of that. Plus it would be very similar to the Shelby 500.
Seriously doubt the likelihood of a "Boss 429"/6.2L based engine for the Mustang - too big to package cheaply under the hood. A NA 5.8 variant of the 2013 GT500 engine would be more doable. IMHO, instead of another Mach 1 or Boss 351 SE, Ford could simply make a street-legal CJ/SCJ (GT500 engine option) SE as a "thanks and farewell" to the current S197/D2C chassis with the SRA, while at the same time showing the 1-finger salute to the Camaro and Challenger.
Bad boy would more likely be the super snake. I think the boss is right where it is supposed to be. And the track numbers prove that. Any more motor will probably throw off the balance.
