Ahh, would you have not been better off with a regular GT and then personalizing it? Really at 45K plus, why destroy what makes it special?

All his mods are to make the car more like the race car, and to increase performance. Why would you start with a lower performance base car and have to upgrade the power train and suspension as well?

I am old, 67, and I get it! Life is short, enjoy it. This will be "your" car, and that is an important part of ownership. I am waiting on the pics.

When I retired in 2007, I bought a 2007 GT/CS three days before. When I showed up at work, a co-worker looked at it, shook his head and asked if I was ever going to grow up...I said yes, when they close the lid. What other people think really has no bearing. All that matters, in the end, is what makes you happy.

Beautiful car..best of luck with it.

Posts like this crack me up. This is my first Mustang but having a million and one options to personalize them is one of the things that makes them special. Like Cloud9 stated Jason is making his car look like the CURRENT race cars. Just like guys did when they bought 1969 and 1970 Boss 302's. And just like the 1969/1970 Boss 302's what makes this car special is what's under the hood. The engine in the 2012/2013 cars is the same engine used in the 302R and 302S race cars. If people covet the new Boss 302's decades from now it will be because of the engine and not because of the stock spoiler and hood.

Do you really think it's the engine that makes it special? Not the handling?

For me it's both. The fact that ford brought back the 5.0 & that the car can get around the track stock is great! I just want it look like the Boss 302s. Mustangs are all about modding. Ford was the first car manufacturer to offer options on a car and if I remember correctly, it started on the mustang.

Here's what I wrote: "And just like the 1969/1970 Boss 302's what makes this car special is what's under the hood. What's the biggest difference between a 1969 Mach 1 and a Mach I Cobra Jet? What's the biggest difference between a 1969 Sportsroof and a Boss 302? And what's the current fair market value between my examples? The CJ option was $357 in 1969. How much more is it worth now?

Well if you hadn't used the word "destroy"...

Subscribed, can't wait to see the final.
I might've missed it in the thread (or somewhere else) but do you plan on tracking it then or will this be more of a show car?

Cant wait to see it!
