Boss 302 on UK TV

Do you guys get 5th Gear? It's a slightly dull UK based car programme.............but this week they tested the Boss 302.

Good job I already know all about the car and its history, because this test will teach you nothing

Of course its got racing heritage, but taking it to Le Mans?

Still, it looks and sounds great:

is she really testing the Boss and saying that she cant slide the boss into the corner. those Brits are all backward, especially driving on the wrong side of the road.

Just watched it on EZTV.it. Pretty much fun to watch her eat afew P-cars and prancing horses! She does a nice job.

Now, if they would have just compared it to the BMW 1M rather then ptting the 1M against the Audi, I'd know which ccar to keep! Guess I'll just need to keep booth of the orange beasts abit longer.

Those Porsche's and Ferrari's are pretty vintage. I had a lot more fun passing a new 911 GTS at a recent track day.

The whole time I was watching her in the car I kept thinking, "I didn't know the Boss had a kitchen in it".

best pass for me yet was making the guy in the airial atom give me the point by. he didn't want to, he spun in the first session trying to put some distance on me. he finally had to do it. also made a guy with a tuned m3 give me the point by too, he was a cool dude. came up after wards and said "man i tried best i could to not let you but, the instructor finally said to let you go." then he said I made her mad (meaning his instructor) and had to get off track early because i spun trying to catch back up

Okay review. Didn't reveal a whole lot but nice to see it on track. I think she needed more seat time to appreciate the Boss even more.

The Boss looks huge sandwiched between those 2 other cars. Was kinda cool to note it was in the supercars section...

Yep - I saw the same thing.

Note too that the Boss is in a whole different price category over there: 42,000 British Pounds = 66,000 dollars

On second thought

Watched this again... So she has issues being able to manipulate the Boss through corners but manages to activate the wipers instead. It also doesn't measure up to "European standards" ? On what price scale? Are we talking high dollar Porsche? Audi? BMW? I mean she passes a lot of other older performance cars, and the Boss gets props for doing so. Therefore I find the comments about the spartan interior and lack of refinement simply reflecting the true nature of the Boss.

I'm not trying to put this car on a pedestal. However I think reading a few chapters from Farr's latest tome and viewing the 1 hour show we all saw on Speed channel should be required screening of all test driving reviewers. While I haven't had the pleasure of wringing out a Boss myself, only my wife's 5.0, I get the impression from all TMS Boss owners that Ford engineers nailed the bullseye for what they wanted.

An affordable, raw, no apologies, racing heritage inspired 5.0 Mustang. Some reviewers get it, some don't don't. It's all good. We know what we've got.

If you passed a Atom, all I can say is THAT driver must suck! Those things are WAY faster on track and you should have even been close. Example of this is watching old Top gear where Jerome in a supercharged Lotus out runs The Stig in a GT. The Atom is faster then even the Lotus. Your likely a Great driver but the guy in Atom must have sucked either way.

Lol

42,000 pounds? That's 67 grand! Me thinks they screwed up that conversion, and just took the American MSRP and thought that that was the price in Sterling.

0 to 60 in five seconds? huh?

Some of the "European standards" is all sound and fury about the superior nature of all things European as compared to us backwards colonials.

I enjoyed the review in the whole, however. Thanks fifth gear! Now, if you could just get the other "Gear" show to review it, and not let Jeremy near it.

It's probably correct. Europe has massive taxes on just about everything including cars.

That still seems extremely expensive, espically since Ford is not importing the Boss to England. You don't find it odd that they number is the exact same as US MSRP?

It's not high, it's low. Here's a Boss 302 for sale in Sweden:

$82,600! Euro taxes are insane.
