Oh I gotcha. The plate is cool I guess, but seems like most of that cash is for the autograph, then. To me, the only purpose of an autograph is the story of getting it that goes along with it, so I'd never fork over cash for one. That's just me, though; I know it's big bidniz.

 

I usually agree, would rathe get autographs in person, but these guys are rarely available. Case in point, Shelby's dash plaque auto. I paid $350 for this before he got too sick to sign on his own. Now that he had passed, they still sell them with an "auto pen". To me they should not do this. They should only sell screen printed or engraved autos. The only cool thing was that 80-90% of the proceeds went o his children foundation and you also got Shelby sill plates. In the end I itemized my expense on my taxes as a donation.

I have yet to spring for this print, although I really want to.

That IS cool. Dont get me wrong, not trying to krap on people's parade. Heck I collect some stuff that people would shake there head at. I just think the autograph thing is out of control and dont personally see the point. Im a big NBA fan, but I wouldnt be interested in an MJ sig unless I actually met him. When someone asks me about it, I dont want my story to be, "I just paid a bunch o cash for it".
