Boss 302 class for SCCA Solo?

Looking to run a few local SCCA Solo events. Trying to find out what class the stock Boss 302 competes in. Anyone know? I can't find any info on the SCCA website.

I had spoke to another guy who thought the regular Boss 302 was in B stock and the LS was in A stock. Can't verify that though on the SCCA website. Wanted to get some magnetic numbers made up for the car but want to make sure I get the class right.

Nope, it was in B Stock originally, was moved to A Stock not long ago. Your friends' info may be a tad old. LS was placed in Stock Exclusion. Check out http://www.scca.com/documents/Fastra...k-may-solo.pdf .

Boss LS is on stock exclusion list
Boss is in A-stock per June issue of Fastrac news

Both are eligible for ESP, one finished second at the norther states championship on the SCCA national Tour. Driven by Dave H. whom is a member of the Forum I believe.

Congrats Dave - Good Luck at Nationals

Well, throwing Shelbys into F-stock with stock GTs was also a joke - just a joke of a different sort. (And don't throw Sam at me, he doesnt count in this conversation). The SCCA is famous for it's, ahh...sense of humor regarding Mustangs. Scales were swung far in favor of Mustangs before, so consider this the "knee-jerk correction".

Thanks. For the initial outing, the Boss did better than I expected. Finished 2nd/ 3rd (co-driver) and out of first by .166. Congrats to Shawn in another S197. I actually had the fastest raw time 1st day but coned it on the last turn before finish with a spin through the lights (rear first). 2nd day FTD in ESP with my co-driver a short tenth behind me. Regardless, we have some changes planned to help turn in and mid corner. Corner exit was unreal! Full power down no wheel spin. Coming from an F-Body for 3 years to the Boss is a completely different animal. A test and tune, a local event or 2, and then Nationals in Lincoln.

Dave has the red Boss been lowered? What mods have been done to the cars?

First of all, well done. I'm thrilled to see a Boss place so well. It would be nice if it was classed competitively in stock class but it looks like it could be the car to beat in ESP.

I heard that the red Boss had some sway bar mounting bracket issues. If true, is this something that is specific to the Boss or all S197's. My understanding is that it is only an issue when running race tires.

I'm on 315/18's and the red Boss is on 295/19's. They are both lowered, but have different f/r bar set-ups. Marcus (red) bent/ripped out both fsb brackets at 2 separate events. He fabricated an aluminum plate behind the bracket for strength (similar to the factory bracket). He ran the super thick H&R bar and developed a push on day one. Day two he changed back to the stock bar. Both days the fsb bracket/plate held up without incident. I had no issues with the fsb bracket since install a few weeks ago and mine has no plate.

Marcus has just springs, rear bar, and a unique tune, but soon will have shocks by Nationals. I have bars, springs, coilover shocks, camber plates, watts link, and adj rear jackers. Nothing done to the exhaust or motor, yet.
