Boss #1164

Our Boss 302 came in Tuesday.

Comp. Orange, Recaro seats, Boss car cover. Looks awesome.

Its not for sale yet. If it becomes for sale, TMS will be the first to know.

I'll put pictures up later.

What was the build date? Looks like Ford is getting caught up on production.

If the build date was after 5/27(my build date), I am gonna be crushed. I only live 3 hours from the plant and it seems like others are getting theirs before me. Heck, Knights car transporter probably drove right by my house to get to IL. I keep telling myself "it will get here, when it gets here; it will get here when it gets here." But, I'm starting to lose sleep over it. Ugh. Thanks for listening.

Bad news, there are three members that had build dates the week of June 6th, same as me, that have received their cars. All were shipped via Convoy and not rail. Mine will ship via rail and has not shipped yet. Does your window sticker state Convoy or Rail? If Convoy I'd call Ford Customer Service and ask someone to escalate your call and open a case.

That's the highest VIN yet I've seen for a Boss, not that it matters all that much.....

It looks like the date in the lower part of the sticker is 6/10 or 6/13 ??

Usually that date is about 7 days prior to the build date.
So if this car was built the week of 6/13 or 6/20, it got to the dealer lightning quick !!!

My sticker has a date of 5/20 in that same spot(and a build date of 5/27) and a VIN 8400 earlier. Still nothin! I left a message at the dealer, would it be quick to get things rolling if I call Customer Service? If so, what are the magic words to get this thing to me?

We are part of a car show each year so this car will go to the show first. Then its up to the owner if he wants it or will sell it.

He is a mustang fanatic and one of his cars is a 2000 Cobra R with less than 200 miles on it, so it is possible he will keep the Boss 302.

18 miles a year? That is a waste of good machinery. Is that from driving it on and off a trailer? I have had my Boss for 9 days and it has 900 miles. It is my 3rd car, not the daily driver. If you are only going to look at it, buy a painting or sculpture.

This. I put my first 1000 miles on in my first 9 days to complete the break-in so I could make my first track day 10 days after I got it!

Haha I looked at my bank statement online and saw 6 trips to the gas station in the first 10 days!

I completely agree with you. Thats why my 2003 Cobra has 32,000 miles.

So when is your show this year? It must have been about 10 years ago since I've been there. The thing I remember is how everyone tried to do smoky burnouts when they left your lot. I'm not sure how many near accidents I saw so I'm sure things are a little more tamer now.

Nice show though!

Nice show though!
The show got to big so we don't have it at the dealer anymore since 08.

We partner with the Volo Auto Museum. I will have to find the exact date but in August the Mustang and Shelby show will be held in Volo and we will be up there.

I have also noticed that my gas receipts are accumulating faster since I took delivery of my Boss. My driving habits in it remind me of the Supertramp song "The Long Way Home."
