Blasphemy
Ok. (Don't attack) We have all talked about what car we gave up for our Boss' but what car would we trade in or sell to get. I saw the new Corvette today and I have to admit.... me like!!
I dont want to start non-related Boss topic here, but lately I have been thinking about selling my car or trading in both my Boss and my wife's car to get a bigger SUV for her and save some money. My work provides me with a car and a gas card, so it only makes sense. At first, my Boss was a DD and now its a weekend or sometimes every other weekend car and that is not why i bought it. We had a baby 7 months ago and she not yet returned to work. I figured i could sell the Boss and then pick up a SBY LS or GB down the line. But I saw the Vette and it entered my mind. Again it would be down the line.

Well Antonio with your youngin (congrats by the way - best thing you'll EVER make!!!)) I can understand your feelings on this matter. But for me this is my 'dream' car loved the Bosses for 40+ years. I don't see anyone prying this from my fingers unless it becomes financial and even then if a kidney can resolve it I'll be keeping mine!?! Even the next Boss would tempt me but it would be an addition for me not a subtraction!
I'd only trade my BOSS for a '13 GT500.
"Remember our co-pilot? Where's he gonna sit? Where's he gonna sit?"
OK, if yo're too young, that's a line from The Cannonball Run where Dean Martin is talking to Sammy Davis Jnr about where their co-pilot (God!) is going to sit in their 2 seater Ferrari 308 GTS.
Same applies here............sorta, a wife and new baby (congrats!) aren't going to fit in a Corvette!
Stick with the Boss. The ultimate (occasional) family car

i haven't found one yet. otherwise the boss would be gone. the dealer i bought mine from has tried to get me to buy there 13 gt500 a couple of times now. i want nothing to do with it.
Plenty of 13 GT500's out there on my FMC dealer website. Prices in the 60's, and nothing I have read that says its as engaging to drive as a BOSS. Most powerful for sure, and that's going to be a bragging rights conversation for awhile, but give me a low production BOSS, and most will appreciate the car for what it can do as a total package and not just down the quarter mile.
Everyday, I check BOSS availability on FMC and the numbers are dwindling. Lots of Green, very few white, and a normal mix of the other colors. As far as LS, just a couple of pages, mostly black.

Never been a big vette fan, During the big car meets on Sundays I would always see the same type of guys driving them. Silver haired older men with the fake looking barbie woman at their sides.. Definitely don't want to fit that mold. Mustang owners IMO have always added the appeal to owning a Mustang.
I've always been a Vette fan. I toyed with one before I bought my Boss just to make sure I didn't want one. I've been through the plant a couple of times, walked through the museum in Bowling Green, KY several times. BUT, I think the new C7 is UGLY. They should have called it Transformer instead of Stingray. To many lines, too futuristic for my tastes. I'm sure it is nasty on the track/straightline etc. but I think the current Vette is much better looking.
Mixed feelings on the new "Vette", the back is definitely GM saving money by using Camaro parts. Which both cars should be totally separate. Other than that, looks pretty nice, but I still love my BOSS.

I love my Boss, its not that i want to sell it or trade it. The financial part of it is not killing me but i would hate to be in that position. I said the Vette because it was on my mind and if i was in a better position when that time came to buy another sports car i would consider it. My first choice is to keep the Boss and be buried with it. But if i had had had had to then i would. There is no car that matches the proformance for the price of the Boss.
I sold my 'Vette (obviously not a C7, but a C6) in order to buy the Boss. There's something about both the car and the community that I just wasn't comfortable with. I'm not knocking the car or owners of the car, I think I'm the one who didn't fit.
So far I'm very pleased with the Boss and Boss owners I've communicated with. I think we're a bit more like-minded about the car.
One advantage of the Corvette, however, is the sheer size of the community. There's never a lack of conversation about anything a person wants to know about the car, mods, etc.

I had a 93 ZR-1 with the 405HP. Low production car, and 14k miles, show car basically. I never liked the squeeks. The fit and finish back then, left something to be desired.
The ZR-1 had a pretty cool history and its similar to the BOSS's evolution, but beyond that, the 305 rear tires were about the only thing I liked about it. I hated getting in and out of that thing, so I sold it to a PGA player from Boston.
I agree, the Vette community is nice...but different.

Never had a Vette, although I've promised my wife one, it's her dream car. But that aside I have to weigh in on the Mustang community. I love how the car cuts across income, race, sex and geographical lines and the fact that Mustang people, while loving their brand of choice tend to love cars in particular. An open-minded and welcoming family I'm proud to be a part of. Never saw that level of warmth and acceptance in any other brands enthusiasts group.
