Anyone tune their 2013 Boss yet

Seen a post on a forum were a tuner put a Steeda CAI and tune on a '13 Boss and only picked up 10 peak rwhp. This was going from 87 to 93 octane also.
Said it did not respond to any of the TiVCT changes as he would expect.
Had 160 miles on it. Very odd.

Thanks. Couldn't the HP increase be attributed to just the jump from 87 octane to 93 ???

The car needs some more miles on it to loosen up and he should see another 10-12 rwhp.

I would attribute 10HP to the jump in octane. But, why were they running 87 in a Boss in the first place?

Peak to Peak is not the whole story. You left out the part where it picked up 30 rwhp at 6500 .

On the Boss the CAI gains will start at about 4,000, and carry all the way up. The lower than usual gains below 4,000 could just be in the tuning, not everyone has figured out how to squeeze power out of these cars even though they've been out 2 years. I definitely think there is more power to be had there below 4,000 just from tuning. Cam timing is very important on these cars, more so than ignition timing.

Why in the hell was that Boss running 87? It says right on the door well to run 91+.

agreed my car with the tune only made 24 ftlb under the curve and under 4000 rpm but only 16 peak. TIVEC and ignition timing are a mutually learned art in tuning the Boss motor. Lund, Steeda, etc have done great at tuning the Boss

My dealer told me that the cost of a tank of gas is figured into your cost for the car so if that is the case your dealer screwed you.

I have bought 4 new cars (awaiting on #5) from my dealer and I have never left without a full tank of gas

It was a courtesy delivery to a dealer I've had a vendetta with for a while so it was no surprise. Just glad they didn't touch the car.
