Some of you guys crack me up with this warranty bit. Ford wouldn't release a tune to us that could turn our motors into scrap metal, and considering how obviously watered down the tune is, I think it's silly to use that as an excuse not to get it.
For me personally, I look at it like I've got 3 years of coverage, which translates into 3 years for one of the tuning shops to crack the code and give me a better tune that'll accept my mods, which at the end of the day will potentially void the warranty all together anyway. So who cares.

Yeah, I'm not getting the guys who are saying they don't want TK because it will reduce their warranty, YET they want an aftermarket tune that completely VOIDS their warranty. What am I missing?

An aftermarket tune can be pulled out and returned to OEM stock form with 5 min's

Ford also can tell if any sort of tune was loaded onto the car, so returning it to stock doesn't put you in the clear.

Post #16 in this very thread posted a link to a website stating that.

I do belive you answered for everyone who is not getting the tune: considering how obviously watered down the tune is. Yes warranty is a major concern. But if I'm going to drop $400.00 + on a tune and risk a warranty issuie. It's not going to be a waterdown tune. 50% of the people that have the tune state they feel no big changes engine wise. No dyno test show anything different.
No one can deny that one of the major promotional things being offered was the loppy idle. As stated by the Ford engineers it was the coolest function about the track key. From the people that have TK to the people that dont, will all agree on one statement about TK........What am I Missing.
In time someone will devolpe a program to use the two computers and do what Ford has claimed:
Boss Track Key - Try the Red One !
Two heads are better than one, when you can operate the stock 2012 Boss (if you can call any Boss Mustang stock..) with one key or insert a special Red Track Key which unlocks the full Boss 302R race computer and see how it transforms all aspects of this car into a beast!

The car is fast and may be a BEAST for some people. If your use to driving High Preformance cars it has a way to go from being that BEAST. I also dont buy the statement: unlocks the full Boss 302R race computer.
To everyone that has purchased Trackey.....Enjoy it. Thats your choice. Life goes on!

Well, after running TracKey AT THE TRACK this weekend, I can say it was worth the money. The improved throttle response is great, car feels like it pulls a lot harder in the mid-range, and pulls like crazy from 100 to 140mph. The engine braking is very noticeable and helpful for rotating the car without using the brakes themselves.

Oh and also, it sounds amazing during downshifts.

Since I'm not a dedicated track guy I'm not getting the tune. Car is more than enough to handle on the streets without me doing something accidentally stupid.

I wouldn't worry about doing something stupid. The TK is very liveable in daily driving. What it does it really wake the car up. Having the Red Key/TK is part of the whole Boss experience.

I drove it at MMP and know what it should do; although the almost one mile of elevation there knocked some of the guts out of performance I get the same action here at sea level(almost). I may get a tune after power train warranty is over if I don't buy an extended warranty before 3 years are up. If I was like Scott, Rick, Andy or Cloud Nine I'd buy it.

That's what I'm talking about Good report Drew, I was expecting similar results when I finally get back out there.

This is good to know. At my last track day I was starting to get the hang of rotating the car (something they talked about at TA) and taping the brakes to do so. It was amazing to see Joe and Gunnar do it so precisely during our hot laps at TA.

More crackle and pops during downshifts does sound cool.

I agree with boss man here. I am not purchasing this watered down representation of a performance "tune".

What would be awesome is if the Trackey actually made more power instead of just giving you the illusion of more power with a quicker throttle map.

One of these days I may swing buy my dealer and see if he wants to give it to me dirt cheap (seeing how I paid over sticker). If not, then Trackey for me. I'll take that money and put it towards a axle back exhaust.
