Is anyone NOT getting the track key?

I want to get the track key, but I also want to mod my boss to get 450ish rwhp. So it's looking like I won't get it now unless someone can crack it and be able to put it on an xcal.

Am I the only one like this?

Declaring the rebellious act if NOT getting lamo track key, and maybe getting a more aggressive front splitter and rear spoiler ;-)

I'm not getting it.

Then again, I don't have a Boss, so there's that.

i have SCT cracking mine to do a custom tune on the redkey now, so i can modify the car with a CAI and exhaust ie long tubes about the same goals as you

Not getting it, headers, larger throttle body, cold air intake are not compatible with trackey. I decided I would rather have more HP and Torque than a semi-lopey idle.

No Lopey Track key here. So many better ways to spend $400.00. I'm waiting for someone to tap into the program and provide you with what Ford was supposed to. Thank god Ford keep the track Key from us owners untill November, this way I did not do an impluse buy. now the Boss is in hibernation for 6 months.

NOT ME. Car has Transmission problems and I do not want to have warranty cut almost in half. Will look at a tune that I can remove.

John

I got it. To me it's part of the complete BOSS experience, it has cool factor. But that doesn't mean I don't also want to do mods and get a tune elsewhere. Hoping that one of the bigger names in tuning cracks it and can modify it to accept those mods.

In the meantime, I'm having fun with TK. And I'm becoming increasingly attracted to the part where I can turn the tune on/off by just swapping keys.

Won't be getting until next spring, unsure if even then. I don't care about the idle, may end up going with a aftermarket tune. Am in no hurry at this point, car runs good enough for me now.

John

Be careful of the aftermarket tune, ford has a service bulletin out to void warranty if certain parameters are changed. Yes they can tell, the computer counts flashes and also stores a code if those parameters are changed.

Got my TK for free so how can you pass that up?
I wish the idle loped a bit more but it's cold here now and hopefully it warmer temps it will.

I understand people wanting to do mods but this is the first Mustang I have owned that I have not felt the desire to mod. I just love this car stock, to me it's actually amazing that Ford gave us such a great car in stock form.

+1 for me on waiting for a better tune. Loss of warranty is deal breaker for the very modest gains and not nearly lopey enough idle.

based upon REDUCED of warranty coverage, I would say any Boss that has a TK will have a lower resell value

I have not YET bought a Boss and now I will stay away any TK Boss's

I wonder if I found a Boss with TK can it be removed and the warranty length restated? (I doubt it)

I'm going to wait and see. I don't track nearly enough to be that concerned with the TK parameters, so sadly I was really more interested in the "fluff" of the lopey idle. I've always wanted a car with a nasty idle.

At this point, I really like the car in stock form, and the warranty implications aren't worth it. I am anxiously anticipating what kind of tuning becomes readily available down the road.
