Anyone Install a Hurst Shifter in Their Boss?

Here's the factory shifter and the part under the plate is just like the Hurst, then it just bolts back into place with 4 bolts.
The MGW replaces the entire shifter both upper and lower.
The loose feeling the Ford shifter has comes from the rear mount and the two bushings inside the shifter. The Hurst and other which replace only the top portion of the shifter leaving the bottom as original.
MGW looks different because their shifter replaces the internal split bushing mounted in a soft rubber with a bushing over twice the size mounted directly to their lower housing. The rear bushing is replaced with two stiffer bushings which eliminate most of the twist associated with the ford system.
I also grew up with the Hurst Shifter. The Competition Plus was the heat back in the day. Then Hurst took the factory shifters out of the equasion and replaced all components with a simple reliable upgrade to OEM. Unfortunately, Hurst is now simply moving the pivot location which shortens the throw and little else.
I looked a the Hurst, Barton, Steeda and others. The only company who attempted to fix most of the probelms is MGW. Mine ships next week.
Do I miss the t-handle...sure. I also miss the 1968 big block vette it was in. IMO Hurst is no better than the others any more. Worse than some.

All I want is a Ford Racing shift **** and I've already contacted them requesting one be made for our cars.

Shifter complete is $375. That includes top, bottom and rear bushing. If you buy the Barton or Husrt the cost is a few dollars less. You do not get the same shifter, only the top. Some of the slop comes from the internal bushings of the shifter. All but the MGW use the original internal bushings.
I will install in my garage. Jack, stands and hand tools are all that's needed.
MGW has a three part install video. Watch the video a few times and you won't have to read the instructions.
I will be installing early Dec after return from Afghanistan. I'll post comments after install.
10-4. I watched the videos, and was impressed with the changes to the lower half that MGW engineered. The third video just seemed to explain how to get the unit OUT, but not to reinstal. I thought maybe it just cut out at the end.
Thanks for your service.

I agree there is nothing wrong with the stock shifter. If anything a shifter bracket might help shifts under power.

Once again, I also thought the factory shifter was good; the MGW is GREAT.

There are the other installation videos that are not on the site. After watching the play, or lack thereof, in the third video, I am really wanting to do this. I might take my TK money and order this shifter instead.

the owner is also a Boss owner and spend a half hour talking to me about the shifter and the process they went through making this.

Scott- I'm really excited to see what you think of it. I have three things that I want for the car.
1. TK
2. This setup to put in a double-din since my car is a daily driver and I want various features from a touchscreen radio.
3. This shifter.
Right now I'm seriously thinking about reversing the order of importance of these items.

That is pretty cool with the touch screen AC controls, the price is not bad also. Would be a great mod for a DD. As far as the shifter goes I have read only good things about it. I don't expect it to be a cure all but I hope I can shift into fifth easier, it is not the only reason for wanting it but it up top on the list. He did make it clear that is not the intent but understands what I was talking about and feels there is improvement. I drove a LS with the S teeda shifter and did not like the feel. He said this one is much smoother. If that is the case I will be happy.
Well, I've got an AVIC 920BT that came out of my Bullitt, it wasn't like the dealership was going to give me anything for it, so I took it out before I traded my car in. I hate not to use it. I've been waiting for this Scoshe unit to come out for months.

But if I ever put an aftermarket shifter into this car, it would be an MGW.
