Any updates to TracKey software?

Wondering if Ford has updated the software for TracKey. My lopey idle is still not where I think it should be.
Trac Idle will kick on once engine warms up but it seems to stop working after I've been driving it for a bit.
I have no accessories running.
Don't understand why it goes away.

I have no need for an upgrade as mine works perfectly.

I should have said perfectly for me. I like the more responsive throttle and enhanced engine braking but what I really like is the sound of the engine driving around town.

I only use mine for Track Use..

Mine seems more pronounced when its warm, I doubt Ford will change it due to the Catalytic Converters.

Take it to the dealer and have it re-flashed...

My key flash fine as well. Word to the wise as far as the 36K warranty though--checked with the Ford Racing tech line today and they didn't have any record of my warranty/purchase yet. Had to call the dealer and ask them to send FR a bill of sale from the TracKey purchase and a copy of the work order. You may want to call and make sure your warranty is in effect.

Is the 2013 going to have Track Key available right away or will 2013 purchasers need to wait forever too?

Would be nice if Track Key just came stock on the 2013's.

It comes with my LS (was not an option) and is delivered with the car, so my dealer says. we'll see.

Could you just go back and get reflashed at the dealer?
I also wonder if the 2013 Boss flash is any different than the 2012.

Brain, all Boss's come with the Track key hardware. You will have to have it activated once you take ownership of the car. this can cost from 250 to 425 depending on the dealer. Thats how it was for the 2012 owners and i would think thats how it will be for the 2013. Good luck with your new ride.your going to love it.

I read in the trackey package that if the lopey idle doesn't seem correct, the computer may have lost the cam zero. You should start the car with the silver key and let it idle for 5 minutes. Do not touch the gas pedal during the 5 minutes. The computer will relearn the cam zero and then when you use the red key your lopey idle should be correct.

You can also verify if the trackey is working properly by going into the pit mode setting and if the green light flashes once you are in the setting, then the trackey flash is good.

Read question and answer on top of page 11 regarding your issue.

What if the " TRACKEY IDLE / ENGINE ENABLED" message is displayed but the idle is not very lopey?

This instruction indicates that "the PCM may need to relearn the zero (or "home") position of the cams." Follow the procedure to reset. Let us know if this works for you.

I tried this and the trackkey idle is still pretty weak sauce. It's a bit lumpier than stock but nothing like their demo car. They really should offer a more aggressive non-CARB tune.

Thanks for that info.

I reset the cam zero as instructed.
Too early to tell if it made a difference. Previously I had the lopey idle but it would smooth out after I had been driving it for a bit.
Today I did the reset and then used the Red Key, the lopey idle was there but I didn't take the car out for a test run.
So I'll see what happens next time I've driven the car for a bit.

Ford has never claimed an increase in HP so don't expect any. I don't believe a word of what that guy posted.

Noticed Trackey software is now version v2.2. Anyone know what the updates contain (or have lost?) Will my car be automatically updated at next service?

Interesting, but I would suspect it would be minor improvements.

Considering how clueless dealers are about the TracKey, no. It's not going to gain or lose any features. Any updates are going to be purely bug fixes for particular circumstances. They have your money and the regulatory hassle to get it done in the first place was pretty large. They're not going to go fiddling with it if they don't have to.
