Any interest in a retrofit factory alarm system??
Hey folks,
Having been unhappy with the lack of proper integration with the Ford Accessory alarm system, I considering looking into what would be needed to retrofit the factory system onto our cars.
The factory system would add the motion and inclination sensor to the available PATS system. and would work with our current key.
The Ford Accessory system doesn't have the internal motion and inclination detection, but can detect shocks. It too works with our key, but isn't (in my view) properly integrated. For example hitting the 'panic' button triggers both alarms, (the accessory alarm doesn't sense the panic button, but the PATS alarm turns on the dome light, which then triggers the accessory alarm). As such, they must be silenced separately which is a pain is the butt when the alarm is going off.
I am trying to gauge interest in the factory retrofit to see if I can get a dealer on board to help with the programming info that would be needed for such a kit. How much would such a system be worth to you?
Let me know your thoughts.
