Anxious New Owner
Greetings!
I ordered my 2012 Boss 302 over the Memorial Day weekend. The dealer told me a few weeks back that the build would take place the week of July 25th. Question is, what would be a good estimate for a northern Virginia delivery? I do have VIN but nothing shows on the fordlabels.webview site. Maybe the build is still a few weeks away. I need to make room in the garage. I’m having a little trouble selling the 90 911 and the 05 Roadglide.
Not much conversation going on about extended warranties. I saw the threads about how modifications will void the warranty. Most can’t wait to do mods, but I figure some will keep it stock. It would suck to have major failure just after expiration.
I’m excited about getting the car. Payed sticker, went with the Race Red and the Recaros. I still remember the thrill of riding in a race prepared 69 back in the early 80’s. I recently asked my Mom if she could recall what car I wanted when I started driving back some 32, 33 years ago. She said I never stopped talking about that Boss 302!
Thanks, Kevin B

I got the extended warranty with my car. I talked with the service manager up front. He stated that as long as no major mechanical mod that I made failed or caused the failure of a stock OEM part the warranty would cover the failure. My local dealer deals with alot of modded cars and high performance mustangs. Having bought my last 3... now 4 mustangs from them I have never had any issues with them and mods.

I bought the 7 year 125K Ford Extended Warranty for my Boss...and I generally do not buy extended warranties. I did so on my wife's 1990 Mercury Sable when it was new because of the newness of 3.8 V-6 and front wheel drive on Ford intermediate size cars, and it turned out to be a good decision. It was an OK car, but the spreadsheet I kept on repairs for the following 6 years showed the EW saved me many thousands of dollars above the cost of the warranty in out of pocket expense...can you say Lemon? The AC system was a smoking pile...broke every 3 months it seems. My thinking is that there is a ton of potential catastrophic downside financially with this new, highly specialized, high output package...so things might not last as long..only time will tell. Like fate, if the car knows it is under warranty, maybe it won't break!!! Ha Ha!
I don't plan to change a single item on the car, and will not track key it should that option ever come to fruition IF there is any question about it voiding either the factory or extended warranty. I will read any disclaimer carefully. Heck, I like it the way it is! When I want to hear a car chat and cut up at idle, I will start my track prepared 68 Mustang A-Sedan race car, and let 13:1 pistons and a roller cam talk to me.

Congrats on your 2012 Boss 302 order!! I checked on you getting an ESP for your Boss and it is eligible to get any ESP you’d like. Please speak to your dealer about this. You can also private message me with your VIN and I can find out more info on your order for you.

Point is, I think you can get the ESP. Since our cars are twins and were both in the D.C. suburbs, I'll be on the lookout for you!
Thanks atrain1975, I have yet to see one on the road in NOVA. I know that Ted Britt had an allotment of 10 and Koons Falls Church received 5. I was #4 of 5 at Koons. according to the dealer my car was built last week. Cant wait to get it but still need to clear the garage of a Porsche 911 and a HD Roadglide! Wife is going to kill me!!! Yea, getting rid of a 911 for a Boss 302. Got-a-love-it!
[QUOTE=atrain1975;6114755]I bought my Boss in northern VA and was offered an extended warranty and the wheel / tire package. I declined everything because I needed to stop the bleeding on cash outlays. It might turn out to be a poor decision in hindsight if the car craps out; given the two warranty issues I have going on now (LCAs and a shifter rattle), it's not looking good.
Point is, I think you can get the ESP.
I've done some research on ESP's. Flood Ford (do a google search) has the lowest priced ESP's in the country and they are honored at any Ford dealer.
