Amazing News From Ford Today
Today at work, I got a call from a gentleman at Ford (not going to name him, will explain later) to let me know they had not forgotten about me and that they were working on putting something together.
That something, is a Owners Kit for the Pre Production Laguna Seca ! I had called Ford Performance twice, and talked with the guys there, and they all agreed that it would be cool that Ford would recognize the production of the car for history of the BOSS project. But, they couldn't do anything for me.
I've worked for a large Ford dealership for 15yrs and I had reached out to our Factory Reps, both sales and service, to see if they could just gather info on the car. many emails, but nothing from them..
Until I got the call today ! That Ford was researching the car and putting together a owners kit and engraving a keychain PP0005 and including all the materials you get in the kit, but told me that I would not be allowed to use the 1 track attack day since it wasn't a production car. I have a track attack day for my 13 BOSS anyway, so I didn't care.
He also said that I would get the certificate with the kit, and it would acknowledge the pre production serial, and hopefully a production quantity number of the car like 1 of 12, or hopefully 1 of 4 the PTROCKS has documented !
I'm a little nervous about the production quantity that Ford will come up with for the certificate if it says something more than those numbers..or if it will be left off totally. I stressed how much that would help with the cars history, so I hope he works hard on it to find out what he can.
He said it looked like a couple days worth of work for him to go through the information that he had to get those numbers. I should expect the kit in 2 weeks.
I'm leaving his name out, because I am unsure this is something he want's to do very much of. If I hear differently, I will let everyone know that has a PP or MP car.
I asked who had contacted him...and he said it had been the KC Zone Sales Rep Mgr. I quickly sent off a email to our reps thanking them !
Thanks to the 2 fantastic members on this forum,for providing me with original "Not for Sale" window stickers and the full documentation of the build back in August of 2010 ! Without this forum and great members, I wouldn't have this Laguna that is so well documented !!

Contacted the group at Ford to see the progress and more importantly what Pilot Numbers they had come up with. The staffer I spoke with told me it was in the works (so 2 weeks wasn't happening)and it takes time to have the engraved keychain made, and that this isn't anything Ford usually has made for non production cars.
I told him I was just overly curious about the production numbers and how cool it will be to have the document to pass to my children with the car. He agree's, and seems to understand the value of the document...still have my fingers crossed for a Low Low production run certification !
