Allocation of later run 2012s and 2013…anyone know if remaining dealers will get a chance to order a Boss?

Title pretty much says it...just wondering if my small local dealer will be able to order a Boss for me in late 2012 or 2013? They only sell ~10 Mustangs a year along with ~1 GT500 per year. Wondering if the dealers that didn't get a Boss allocation to date will get first shot at any remaining 2012s or the 2013...anyone know or have a guess? Thanks, Mitch

You'd be surprised how some small dealers know how to make deals with other dealers to get what they need.

Personally, I think in the not too distant future, it will be much easier, and maybe less expensive, to find one. Even at the smaller dealers. Let the hype die down some, then go shopping.

If they would just build them,to match the orders as they come in,regardless
of some exclusive build number, just like in the old days. Wouldn't matter from what dealer you ordered from then. That's whats missing in today's market.

Ford's recent success would tend to contradict this statement.

I'm surprised to see all of the BOSS Mustangs advertised at MSRP on autotrader.com and cars.com.

Me too, I'm still going to wait until I can get one at my small local dealer...maybe Ford will let every dealer that wants one order one before they let the larger dealers have multiple Bosses. I also can't find an official answer if all the 2012's have been allocated.

You wouldn't feel the same way if you walked into your small town dealer and they told you it would be a 6 month wait because all the huge dealerships put in orders for 20 Mustangs each the day the order banks opened.

I asked my dealer, who sell 50+ Mustangs/year, and he is allocated only one- a
Laguna Seca, and that's it as it stands right now.

Someone else posted that their dealer told them the lottery process was still going on. If true, that would mean that not all 2012's have been allocated. I'd ask your dealer to contact their Zone rep for an answer.

I work at a Ford Dealer in the Pittsburgh area. As far as I know all the allocation has been set for 2012's. Was done several months ago Im pretty sure. 2013 Allocation has not been entirely set yet. If you sell x number of Mustangs a year you get at least one Boss. The rest go into a lottery system and any dealer can get one. Regardless of dealership size or volume.

I figured as much as well, but my dealer said they just picked up an extra 2012 allocation recently.

You got it. Allocation for 2013 Boss should be in January sometime. We got one car last year and I expect to get one car again this year.
