Aeroforce Install for Dummies........

There isn’t a tread dedicated to this…..I’ve looked and couldn’t find this so……..

I’ve been kicking around getting the Areoforce Interceptor gauge so I can monitor oil temp /pressure and have a shift light.

Pros: Can also monitor other engine functions, cost
Cons: Hard to get a hold of Aeroforce
Unknown: Will shift light be bright enough out of the line-of-site?

So guys with the aeroforce can you see the shift light?

Are the alarms load enough to be heard over the engine/road noise on a track day?

If I go with the Interceptor I need:

From Roush
Mustang Gauge Pod (2010-2012) $34.99

From Aeroforce
The CNF Series Interceptor gauge for newer Fords (correct?) $249.00
One 150 psi oil pressure kit (from aeroforce) $65.00
One fluid temperature kit (from aeroforce) with which fitting 3/8 or 1/8? $44.95

Which power supply kits? How may?

What other fittings?

This all connects to the fitting above the oil cooler on the Boss, correct?

What else am I missing?

Does anyone know if on a different board there is a step by step set of instructions (gauge install for dummies?)

Thanks

In for updates. I ordered my gauge/pod last week from Lethal Performance. The pod arrrived but the gauge hasn't and I don't have any shipping info from Aeroforce/Lethal. Hopefully it arrives next week and I'll install it that weekend after it arrives. Since we already have a oil pressure idiot light I'm more interested in the oil temp sensor and might add that at some point.

You can see the two red lights from the left hand A/C pod no problem. I currently have mine set for coolant temp above 245, but you can easily set it for RPM as well. There is no audible alarm as far as I know. If there is then the answer must be no you can't hear it over the engine noise Yes you need those senders if you want to measure oil temp/pressure.

Here's a pretty thorough writeup that answers most of your other questions:

No plastic housings glued and molded into the stock column cover. There is about a 1/4" of unused space under the top of the cover so I was able to sink the gauges down that much for better visibility of the info panel on the stock dash. I puzzeled and just couldn't find anything that I liked. I think the gauge thing is one of the worst things about the Mustang. Your main Boss gauges look so much nicer than the retro crap they put in the base car. If it weren't for the redline on your car being so much higher than mine I'd seriously think of buying a Boss cluster.

I was told when I ordered my Aeroforce gauges they were all made to order as they keep none on the shelf. IIRC, mine shipped about 4 or 5 days after placing the order.

My only complaint about the Boss is the gauges. While they do look better in the Boss they are difficult to read and incomplete hence the Aeroforce gauge. I'd also prefer to have the speedo on the right and tach on the left so their most usable ranges (at least to me) are more centered. I thought long and hard about the LS gauge pack but in the end it's just not for me so I passed.

Did you buy a gauge pod and modify it? If so which one?

Thanks. I'm sure mine will arrive shortly and I'll be ready for my next mod.
