Adding a Backseat to the Boss LS

So it looks like the 2013 Boss LS is what I've been waiting for. The only problem is I need a backseat. Does anyone know if a seat can be installed over the X-brace or will it need to be removed?

I can't answer your question, but I have to ask (because someone will), why not just get a regular Boss if you need a backseat?

That is a possible option but with a standard Boss I would want to add Recaros/Torsen, Gauge Package, acceptable wheels and School Bus Yellow is a must for me. At this time we don't have all the details about the 2013's so maybe a couple of those things won't be a factor. The pics of the I've seen so far of the 2013 LS doesn't have the Gauge Package. Perhaps the standard Boss wheels will be acceptable to me however if they are the same as the 2012 they will not do for me. I haven't seen the Boss Colors at this point. If School Bus Yellow is exclusive to the LS then that pretty much settles it. By the time I add those items I might as well get an LS.

You can get SBY on the regular boss. I'm with you on it being a must have, that's why I've waited for a 2013.

Regarding the gauges, I think they are a 2012 exclusive now with the track app dash...

Wheels can be replaced, you can sell the stockers easily if desired.

Best of luck to us both.

Have they announced the colors available for the standard Boss?

From the press release:

A new hockey stick graphic featuring reflective stripes is added to the new Boss, calling back the 1970 Boss 302. 2013 Boss 302 and Boss Laguna Seca models feature new School Bus Yellow paint, honoring Parnelli Jones' 1970 Trans-Am championship car prepared by Bud Moore.

A lot of guys with regular Boss' want the cross brace, but it is really expensive. So you should be able to find someone to trade with to get a seat. I'm sure the mounting points are still in the car.

Thanks, somehow I missed the "2013 Boss 302 and...".

Question still stands, LS might be the way I go if I can figure the backseat issue out.

I would gladly trade all my back seat components for your rear seat delete and cross brace!

I'll sell you my back seats when I get the roll bar installed in a few weeks.

I'll give you my back seats and throw in my dog for your rear delete and cross brace. I also have a cat but that would cost extra.

You should be paying HIM to take the cat off your hands. Can't believe you would oust your dog like that. FOR SHAME!

Just jokin, no one gets the dog, she is really sweet, plus she keeps the cat in line. But I would definitely trade them both for the new GT500.

To answer your original ?

You must remove the x-brace to install the seat. Plus you'll need to add belts.

This is correct, you have to remove the brace first.
