I just received the surround today, however...

The surround, by itself, isn't going to work.
I found out that it looks like you still need the GT grille insert.
Here is why. On our Boss grilles, the bottom part has those long tongue clips that get inserted into the bumper frame.

The GT surrround does not have the bottom tongue clips. ( It has the sides tho.)
It looks like the GT grille insert does have the tongue clips, so when you combine both peices, it'll snap into the bumper like our Boss grille does.

My plan is to cut out most, if not all of the GT inside grille and keep the round fog light openings.

I'll then add the wire mesh behind the completely open grille for protection.

For the price of these two peices, I think it a pretty good deal for use in my car as a track setup.

I also remember seeing some pictures of an early Boss track car using this grille.

Got the 302S Grill for Christmas. Now I just need this Tiger Racing hood. Not sure how I'm going to paint it yet, fortunately have the whole winter to think about it.

What an awesome, and functional hood. I wonder why something functional like that doesnt come on the GT500.........and I wonder what it would look like on my car if it actually fit

I would like to just cut of the flog light openings and replace with a wire mesh.

Q: Where can I find a wire mesh? (that looks good)
.....any color is fine, I can paint with flat black plastic paint)

I'm fine with matte, but I don't like how it doesn't match the gloss roof and I would have to change those grilles. Really making me reconsider my hood choice though b/c that thing is sweet.
