2013 Boss

Guys, for those who have seen the 2013 Boss. What do you think about the changes? I like the stripes, and colors. I do not like the front end, and not sure about the tail lights.

I liked the changes enough to cancel my 2012 race red, which I ordered in April (4th quarter allocation) which came in on Thanksgiving weekend, and changed it to a Grabber Blue 2013, which was just confirmed for a 2nd quarter allocation. I live in South Fla, however I am buying the car 1500 miles away (from the town I grew up in) and getting it for just over invoice , like $150.00 over invoice. The first Boss I saw in south Florida at Maroone Ford was $15,000.00 over list for a Kona Blue 2012 Boss. Not to mention I hate the dealers here in South Florida and actually have sued Maroone in the past.

I forgot to mention, I do like the C stripes of the 2012 better than the 2013, however, as a package, there is no comparison for me. I do not plan to track the car, and the changes (HID Sync dash/gauges) were changes I planned on making to the car. I still have my 85 GT (with an SVO body) from college and my heavily modified 99 F-150 4x4 supercab. So I am sure I will have the boss until the day I die.

Just got an email forwarded to me from my dealer, which he received from Ford. Pricing will be available on March 5, 2012.

Are you having it courtesy delivered, like I did with mine ?

Bought mine from a dealer in Alabama and Ford delivered it to my dealer in Mass.

Yes, just decided today I will do courtesy delivery. I was planning on driving it back when I originally ordered the 2012 for pickup last July/August for my 30th class reunion but it was not ready in time. I figured that would be awesome.

Then I considered taking the truck on a road trip with a trailer and driving it back, however, seemed kinda risky, two of my prize eggs in one basket, not to mention Herman and Lily (my German Shepherds) they would have to come too. So I guess the best bet is to have a courtesy delivery, then any damage in transit would be on Ford. Also, from what I understand the price will only be like $300-$500 for the courtesy, cheapest way to get the car to South Fla.

If pricing won't be available until the beginning of March, do you know when they are starting their build quarters? Obviously it won't be in February like it was last year. Just curious is all

I read somewhere they were starting to build in February, also. I was pretty surprised to learn about the March 5, 2012 date for pricing. Especially, since we keep hearing about price announcement dates December 2011, Detroit auto show, January 15, sometime in February, and now March 5.

I was on the fence about the new GT500 or the Boss, and kinda waiting for pricing and availability of the GT500, however when I got the call from my dealer that this year his allocation was 2nd quarter, I jumped on the Boss. I have a problem with speed anyway, so 650 horsepower would pretty much guarantee a suspended license and enormous tickets, and possibly a state owned GT500. If I told you how many tickets I have had you would not believe me (Sammy Hagar has nothing on me-55 mph is a dark spot in our country's history)....Lets just say that after I graduated from law school and passed the bar exam, the Florida Bar did not want me because they said I had a disregard for the law. Even though I had no citations involving drugs, alcohol, accidents or vehicular manslaughter, they made me wait a year and a half before I could start practicing. Now I have safe driver on my dl and pay cheap insurance rates ....Sooo time to get a new Mustang...

I hate to be the one to second guess another dealer, but that dealer who said pricing won't be out until March 5th is probably guessing, and its a BAD GUESS!!! He probably doesn't even know when Job#1 is for the regular cars. I expect pricing to be released sometime in Febuary at the latest. Hopefully 1st week or maybe 2nd week. If that date he gave were to be accurate, would any of you on here believe Ford would start building cars, without pricing information released to the consumer? I don't. That NEVER happens Every car that starts at Job#1 the prices are out, and the 2013 Mustang will be the same.

It's up to the receiving dealer to decide whether to charge you a "delivery" or "prep" fee.

My dealer did not, since I have done business with him for 19 years. Also, there is no charge to the selling dealer for this, so don't let them tell you they want to charge you a fee.

Congrats on ordering a 2013 Boss in Grabber Blue! I live in the Ft. Laud. area too. Maroone is still asking those rediculaous ADMs on their 2012 Boss, which is why I went a little north to Wayne Akers Ford in Lake Worth for mine, where I got a terrific deal.

I was at the Detroit Int'l auto show today. They had out a School Buss yellow LS, Gotta Have it Green Boss and the Black LS on its side. I love what they did with the LS color scheme. If I were getting an LS, I'd definately go with the 13'. But, If I was gettinig a Std Boss, I'd still go with the 2012. I can't get over the Cobra nose . The 2012 has a distinct Boss look. I hate the typical Ford Honeycomb grill. I hated it on my 2001, it was the first thing I changed. I like both the Hockey stick and reverse C but lean slightly toward the reverse C. I do love the Grabber Blue though!

A couple of things. First of all, my dealer forwarded me an email with a header from somebody with an @ford.com email address, responding to his question "Any idea when they will release pricing for the 2013 BOSS 302 Mustang that we talked about yesterday?" So you are not second guessing my dealer. The response was "Pricing will be available march 5th."

Second, the price is not that important because I think we all have a pretty good idea of what the Boss price is gonna be, give or take. Also, my deal is an invoice plus deal, the price is what it is. The GT500 is the big question as far as pricing goes.

Third, we may be talking about different prices. The price of the Mustang and Mustang GT may be released prior to the pricing of the Boss and GT500. I believe you wrote in another post somewhere that the Boss Mustang will begin production a few weeks after Job1, whatever Job1 means.

Fourth, of course Ford would start building cars before they were sure about final pricing to the customer. Also, just because they are not releasing the prices does not mean they have not already been decided upon.

I am not trying to start anything, however, I just wanted to clarify a couple of things that I thought were being overlooked, or misunderstood.

Thank you very much. Congrats on yours too. I didn't realize that Maroone was still doing that. There is one Boss I know of the guy works at the Goodyear tire store in the 1700 block of Sunrise Blvd. I stopped by and met him, nice guy.

If you get any tickets let me know, I don't usually charge clients for infractions. My office is on Broward Blvd., in downtown, Fort Lauderdale.

No worries bud. Sorry if I came across as rough. Not feeling all that well tonight. A stomach bug is floating around my area and its NOT FUN!!

Job#1 is the date they start production of a model year. Since the Boss 302 is based on a regular GT body code, they can start them the same time as the regular cars, where as the GT500 has a different body code and will be built later in the year.

The dealer is very cool. I had never been there before. I sent the the sales manager an email last year about ordering a Boss for my class reunion, and he responded quickly and with the awesome price. Probably one of his easiest sales ever, especially if I do the courtesy delivery instead of picking it up. My dealer is not going to charge me. He said it is up to the receiving dealer to charge me for the delivery, and said they would probably charge $300-500.

LOL, mine was a smooth running 5.0 Mustang and one of the first Kawasaki Ninjas, combined with parents in South Fla, a 55 mph speed limit, a hot girlfriend in Beaumont, Texas, and school at the University of Florida in Gainesville. I had tickets all over the place and in almost every county in Florida.

I didn't fight any of my tickets and it screwed me royally!! I work out of town and was not able to goto court and fight them. I did the crime so I paid the fine...then got my license suspended for 30 days due to (3) tickets in 12 months....

This only applies to Florida as I am not aware how things work in other states. I hate to say this, however, you should never just pay the ticket as it is an admission of guilt. I know this is off topic and it may not be popular with some of the site members, however, you should never admit to anything, even if you are guilty. Our justice system punishes people who make admissions and admit guilt. The problem with paying the first few is 1. the suspensions, 2. the fact that convictions on your record make it more difficult to get a good plea on the possible next ticket that you receive that may be unbeatable, 3. the suspensions get longer and easier to get after the first point suspension, 4. the first suspension leads to more suspension for DWLSR, 5. the third DWLSR is a felony. Also, never admit that you knew your license was suspended as, depending on the circumstances, DWLSR with knowledge is a more substantial charge. And of course, words to live by, never waive your Miranda rights, never consent to a search of your body, car, boat, personal items, or home, always remain silent, always refuse consent to any type of search, never sign a waiver of any rights, and always demand your lawyer.
